Arshavin [Merged]

Re: Arshavin prefers Man City move to Arsenal!

I could see an interchangeable top 3 of Kaka, Robinho and Arshavin causing nightmares for most defences.

Then slap in De Jong, Ireland and maybe Sweep in the centre of midfield as all have got great engines.

A back four of Bridge, Richards, Kompany and Zab would be solid enough I'm sure.

Fuck me, I might have to go to a pub with SSN and get slowly leathered.

Re: ARSHAVIN does NOT prefer City (delete please)

I heard them too. This used to happen with Chelsea in the early Abromovich days, if anyone remembers.

But seriously, where the fuck would he play?! This is the ultimate in redundancy.

There is no such animal as the "ultimate in reduntancy". If we want this scale of success in this time frame, then we need two squads. Chelsea did the same.

You can get 14/1 on Arshavin to be a City player on the 3rd of Feb if anyones interested. If we don't get Kaka i reckon it's a good bet but then the odds will probably come down

Spot on. This isn't about building a team of 11 and then there's everyone else, and everyone else is a huge drop off. Whether the Kaka clause is true or not, we ought to pretend it is and set ourselves the goal of top 4 by next Jan, and the goal of being in both cup competitions as well (that would be nice)...and the goal of qualifying for the CL next season. We need as many good players as we can get who can cover for each other. There's also the psychological element to all this, viz other managers and teams...

He's cup-tied as well though, isn't he? Even if he is, he and the others that are cup tied can play in the PL, and some of the ones that aren't but who can play in UEFA can take a bit of a break here and there (if you see what I mean).
