This has been raised before on here and dismissed. We only have Stevie Ireland as a true midfielder of suitable quality. Elano is on his way. Gelson and Hamman are simply not good enough. Johnson is out of his head. We need a midfield general to lead the troops. As for Ass-shaving or whatever he calls himself, how can five completely independent bids be accepted? Surely its the highest bidder who wins, subject to personal terms being agreed with the player concerned.

Not needed, we need a midfielder to win the ball and carry it forward then give it to our play makers. He would be another tiny player. When we play bigger teams we really do strugle
 
The type of money we are talking just doesn't do it for me, we need battlers who can win the ball.
