Even though he is a tosser Wenger knows what he needs to do to be successful as a part-time -coach-part-time-accountant. one thing that he might do would be to put their league form on the back burner whilst they concentrated on qualifying, but yes they would get out of it.

ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger has taken a dig at Manchester City after they flopped in the Champions League.
City failed to qualify from the group stages after a 1-1 home draw with Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid on Wednesday.

And moneybags Chelsea are also struggling to progress — while Wenger’s Arsenal sailed through.

Wenger said: “It’s a massive satisfaction because at times I have had my back to the wall being accused of not spending fortunes.

“We showed that we can do it the way we do it and with the club in a financially good situation, and with players coming from our youth development. There’s many ways to be successful and ours is one of them.”

And why is it arsenal are in such a great financial situation?

Unless those quotes were in response to a question along the lines of ''what do you think about City getting knocked out of the CL'', it's hardly a pop. It could easily and more likely have been a response to a question about Arsenal getting out of the group stages. That, coupled with the fact that the media stopped bothering with the truth ages ago, makes it most probably another non story.
