I have this image of them landing. As soon as the capsule is open then all run out and drop their arses into the sea.
Unfortunately, by then they'll be denser than a neutron star which isn't great for buoyancy.

"Drop Anchor....ohhhhhh shiiiiiittttt!"Unfortunately, by then they'll be denser than a neutron star which isn't great for buoyancy.
arse out the window
all v impressive etc, but what's it for - what is the aim - there are astronauts with 'been there, done that' T-shirts surely?
In space, no one can hear you streamNo pushing required
You're right I was reading the burn speed. :-(They're currently traveling at 4800mph. It speeds and slows due to gravity. They sped up to around 25000mph to initially escape Earths gravity but that extends quite far and so the craft has slowed to that speed due to it's 'pull.'
It will speed up again once the moons gravity takes hold.
well, climate change (not man-made) is pretty much the fkn reason why we are even on this planet in the first place, so no biggieBecause eventually we are going to have to leave this planet and if climate change keeps happening at the rate it is, that day will be sooner rather than later.
The Earth's gravity outside of the atmosphere is not far off being equivalent to the surface until you get much further away so they've slowed down because the Earth's gravity is pulling them backwards. What slowed them down if there's no atmosphere?
Is the moon uphill or something?
Or the realtime tracker webpageGet the NASA app you can keep up to date with the telemetry.
Apparently re entry will be at 25000 mph fastest ever attempted, hope that heat shields top quality. The Earth's gravity outside of the atmosphere is not far off being equivalent to the surface until you get much further away so they've slowed down because the Earth's gravity is pulling them backwards.
They did the burn yesterday to gather enough speed to escape the Earth's gravity and then at somepoint they will cross a line where the Moon's gravity will come to dominate and pull them towards the Moon so they will speed up again.
That pull from the Moon will also slingshot them around the Moon and send them back towards Earth before Earth's gravity grabs them back. Earth's gravity is stronger so the return journey will be faster and take less time. They'll then maybe do another burn and use the thick atmosphere to slow down enough for re-entry.

We?Because eventually we are going to have to leave this planet and if climate change keeps happening at the rate it is, that day will be sooner rather than later.
I think the main reason is that it's massively expensive to do. Also, a lot of the technology to do it was lost and forgotten as the staff involved got old, senile and died. I suspect there was a sense of, "We've done that so we can tick it off now," so a loss of appetite for it.I've had a few beers.
But...
And I'm expecting loads of people to have a go.
But I'm going to say it anyway.
If man went to the moon 50 odd years ago.
Why have they not been since.
Next to Buxton is a village called dove holes.
It was voted the ugliest village in Britain.
If Ithey landed in dove for the first time I can understand them saying fuck that were not going there again
Is that you, professor Brand?Because eventually we are going to have to leave this planet and if climate change keeps happening at the rate it is, that day will be sooner rather than later.

So NASA has gone back to the moon because they want to build a new Fever Tree barAsk not why they’ve not gone back for 54years why they went in the first place!? To be first! Russia was first into space first with an animal in space a dog!
Now why they coming back again now because China said they are going to put a man on the moon by 2036 but the dark side where there is a possibility of ice, apparently there is massive craters on that side and because the sun don’t hit that part of the moon for long those massive craters have more chance of ice because less chance of melting!
Why do satellites stay in orbit then instead of crashing back down to earth? The Earth's gravity outside of the atmosphere is not far off being equivalent to the surface until you get much further away so they've slowed down because the Earth's gravity is pulling them backwards.
