OP I have considered your prediciment all day. You face months if not years of pain and rehabilitation, who knows if your knee will ever be right again. The best advice I can give is to have the leg chopped off. If it aint there it can't give you no pain.

Had this done in Jan and still getting pain from it, have to go back in May for a check up and I fear yet another op.

Had similar on my shoulder a couple of years back,a long recouperation but the best thing i did,as good as new now.
An MRA may be very beneficial first though.
