AS Monaco (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Excellent point. Ages since we got anything away from home in the CL. Played well and they looked very dangerous on the break. Would have settled for a draw before the game.

I was blaming Gonzalez initially but then on seeing him getting the ball first it is a farce of a decision. The referee was awful with giving that freekick to start with. Still a bit braindead lifting your leg that high.

Poor performance overall but unlucky draw.

Put the cue on the rack and pissed around for 40mins, they need a fucking rocket for all that fannying around!

Thought we played well in that game and should have put it to bed well before the end.

In terms of the penalty, I know I’m going to be in the minority, but they are always given in Europe and have been for a long while. Hoddles arguments I get some will agree with but it doesn’t matter if you play the ball or not.

Raising your foot that high in Europe is risky.

I'm sure everyone will talk about the ref, but more concerning is just how easy to get at we looked whenever they had the ball. Our team speed in midfield and defence is shocking when you come up against a team with Monaco's pace.

And while I love him, Pep keeping Bernardo on all game was mind boggling.
Agree aabout Bernard - been a great player but running out of steam

Officials poor but we were as aimless for large parts of the first half as we were at Southampton, and we needed much more penetration in the final third of the game but instead repeatedly turned back. That’s on us, alas.

You have to be bloody naive to even give any ref a chance to award a penalty, like that, especially when he's already booked somebody for the same thing earlier in the match

A rash challenge.

In control then Pep makes subs...
Mate, Stones was getting roasted for pace constantly on the right hand side. He just had to swap him for Nunes.

We had two great chances to score again but hit the woodwork both times, which was nothing to do with the subs.

I agree Nico ain’t no Rodders, but then who is?

Someone from the club needs to call this one out. Pure corruption has cost us tonight. That ref has clearly taken a bung to turn a display in as bad as that. It was embarrassing and wholly undermines the integrity of the game.
