We weren’t great but we’d done enough for the result barring a shocking decision from the ref. How many times have we seen teams do enough to get the result when not playing well. Having said that this should be a wake up call to the ‘safe pass merchants’ in the team. Looked like only Foden and Doku were trying to make stuff happen in the first half.

Disappointing result, dominant in possession and we certainly had chances to win the game. Defensively we still look a bit vulnerable, but we should have won that tonight. Ref was diabolical and gave us nothing.

Should have comfortably won that game. Had it under control but really struggled with their pace. Kept the ball so easily but final pass or shot just wasn't there tonight. Ridiculous penalty decision robbed us.

Nico was good when he came on tonight which is a positive. Reijnders needs to be more composed on the ball still. Foden superb, Savinho looked sharp as well after a quiet game from Doku. Bernardo has so many chances to put in a cross or pass but he is just so pedestrian the moment is gone long before he can do anything sadly. And he is running in treacle defensively dealing with any pace.

Why didn't Gvardiol slide the ball to Haaland at the end there!

Ahh well, still where we need to be in the table positively. Won't get a refund as bad as that for a while hopefully.

I think that has to be one of the worst teams we’ll face so not to come away with all the points is very disappointing. Felt like too many players just let that game drift by thinking we’d just see the game out and it’s cost us. A few years ago we’d of put 5 or 6 past that side. A long way to go for this group.

It would be easy to blame the ref for his shite performance but that for me was a tough watch, these sort of games where we look hesitant to play the ball forward and just choose to play the ball to the nearest player. I’m sure there’s reasons for this but I can’t see why we do it.
