AS Monaco (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Average performance against an average side, I can see why he gave the penalty even though I don't think it was.
That last attack of ours when we broke away at pace summed us up, we had a player advantage, Bernie no fucking pace, stops and does his pirouette, loses possession, chance gone, far too many sideways and backwards passing with little intent.
We're currently a shadow of the side that won the treble, if Haaland doesn't score no one does.

Good performance, poor result. A point away at Monaco isn't really good enough to qualify automatically. It makes it marginal. But at least we are above the likes of Liverpool and Barcelona. That's how difficult this is.

I thought it was a 2 out of 5 - 3 at the most, performance. Some thinking it was much better.
It's one of those that looks better because the opposition spent so much time playing low block bollocks.

But youre right and once again, we get left to our own devices and become ineffective at times. Granted if Reijnders or Foden hits the ball 6 inches lower its a much different story.

We just don't seem to control the game the way we used to. We don't dictate pace, we just have one pace, slow.

Berrnardo, rodri and gvardiol all poor.
Nico G was good when he came on other than the penalty, which i think was very harsh but I'd probably be fuming if it were the other way round and we didn't get it.

Erling is about to whip his cock out and lay down some lashings, very frustrated.

Just continuation of the last season, cannot play more than one half, loss of concentration leading to inability to hold to (multiple) leads, lack of energy so we cannot mount attacks into injury time, so late goals are rarity these days, rarely managing to have more than one creative outlet, Haaland a monster if a ball comes to him, otherwise we play with with one man down. We are just not serious contenders. That's my glass half empty.
yeah , Gvardiol is a total mystery for me. He can be absolutely brilliant and then has several games like today ,where he plays like a championship lvl defender.

A bit unlucky but thought we lacked intensity.

Haaland great finishes.

That penalty was always going to be given, we'd have wanted it the other way around.

Another one that got away late on, we should have finished that off long before the end.

Referee was awful, whatever about the penalty he found a ton of phantom fouls by Nico including the free kick that led to the penalty.

On another night Foden or Reijnders kill that game off. Disappointing second half all the same, Bernardo doesn’t have the legs to play right wing anymore and he’s constantly wasting good positions.

Tonight highlights how far we’ve dropped over the past couple of years and how much work we’ve still got to do to get back to the top.

Yes, the referee was a blatant cheat, but we’ve experienced that many times over the years and we’ve had enough nous and ability to overcome it. Not tonight though.

Monaco were a really poor side, yet we constantly gave the ball away, we looked extremely vulnerable on the counter and the whole balance of the team was off because Guardiola, for some unknown reason, insists on playing Bernado who once again was the worst player on the pitch.

Meanwhile we’ve got a player like Haaland up front, in the form of his life, and we can’t create a single chance for him the second half against a pub team.

Guardiola really needs to get it together and quickly, because he’s running out of excuses- he made changes tonight which were unnecessary and made the team worse.
Stay off the pop. Unbeaten in 6 now.
