Asahi partnership... New beer in the ground

You’re in the minority here pal. I think they’ve got it spot on with Asahi.

Compared with that Heineken shite served last year in the paper cups this is a massive improvement.
you were lucky if you got heineken last year,we had amstel up in SSL 3.

we had heineken a few years ago ,at least that is 5%.

Interesting insight into Asahi being installed at City, pre season.

It’s been ten days since I spent seven weeks at The Etihad Stadium carrying out the new asahisuperdry grolsch cornishorchard installations and what a fantastic opportunity it was to work on a project so vast and also meet some great people in the process.

In the end the team and I installed 600+ taps to a very high standard under difficult conditions. Two heat waves, equipment supply issues, labour availability problems and a never ending saga of inherited complications made this a gruelling installation. Massive to everyone involved on delivering such a huge project, on and off site.

A fews stat to highlight just how big the job here was: I averaged 20,000 steps a day over 7 weeks which equates to 700,000 steps - that’s 530km (330 miles!) Hours worked over the seven weeks was just over 445hrs which shows just how many human hours it took across the available resource to deliver this.

It wouldn’t be a asahiuk post if I didn’t mention sustainability. I managed to find a hotel for my colleagues and I where we could not only park vans in a city centre, but also charge them at no extra cost (little mention for the niuloom). Over the seven weeks I drove to and from the stadium on electric only meaning 100% of my time spent in Manchester was emission free. In total I would have saved a tank of fuel for the PHEV fordtransit that asahi have supplied me with.

Ok granted yeah but either or mate think we can both agree they tasted awful.

Not tried the Grolsch yet so can’t comment on that.

Wouldn’t give me the season ticket discount at Summerbee’s yesterday, said it’s only in the ground. And the queue was a joke, just had the one then went in the ground.
We didn’t get the discount in summerbees either after the game yesterday, yet the email from city clearly stated that it was the concessions inside the ground and summerbees in city square, next game I’m going to have the email handy to show them.

My local sells Asahi so knew what to expect. I stopped drinking in the ground last season as it was terrible. The paper pints make a big difference as Mary D’s I’d the same when you you get one there.
anyway the new pint pots were good and not much different from my local. Got 10% off even without showing my ticket so thumbs up from me.

Looking a those pictures, you have to wonder what sh*te went through those beer pipes. Whether the pipes were cleaned. And how often they were cleaned. I'm sure everything is spot on now, and the pipes and taps will be cleaned and maintained to a high standard going forward ensuring the fans continaully get a good pint of Asahi, etc.

Morning all. I dont have the privilege of opening a new topic so here seems as good a place as any to ask.

South stand half time beer tokens. How do you get them ????

On level 3 you buy them before the game from the "normal" kiosks.
