Asda Pay at Pump

You must drive a big car as most petrol tanks are 45-55 litres for mid sized vehicles. So that’s £81 - £99 at £1.80/ltr.

Time to trade in your Hummer?
4 of us hired a Hummer in Las Vegas a few years ago (Ricky Hatton v Mayweather fight). We drove to the Grand Canyon, got lost and on the way back we were running out of fuel quickly and the warning light came on. We didn’t realise how much juice those things go through. In desperation we took a turn into a trailer trash community, no houses, just caravans and the obligatory Church. It had a store, no name but a sign on the window read
“Guns, Groceries and fuel” The fuel pump was at the back, a little self serve unit, life saver, wouldn’t have wanted to stay there the night, even the bloke in the shop was weird, was like something out of “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre”.

I use the Shell app, similar to pay at pump, payment through PayPal, never had a problem. Doesn’t work at Asda though
How exactly does that work , I have the shell app but still pay cash. Do you still have to go in the shop and wait for the PayPal payment to go through which I’m guessing isn’t ‘pay at the pump’

That reminds me. I’ve got a BPme rewards card and the cheeky cunts are always doing offers like “triple points next time you fill up 60 litres”

Most cars don’t have tanks that large - my BMW is 55 litres which is fairly standard for a mid size car in this country.

Wankers.

Pull up at the pump and open the app, it should give the option of pay at pump and you then input the pump number. If linked to PayPal you authorise payment up to £100, fill up and drive away. You get an email receipt and one from PayPal.

I presume you can just put in your card details but I don’t know if that causes the same problems of having money in your account tied up. I’ve only ever been charged the cost through PayPal.

It’s a bit annoying that the app offers you “rewards” such as a free coffee or bag of crisps you have to go into the shop to claim. Defeats the object of filling up and driving away. I rarely claim mine
