Clichy is best left back on the planet anyone who argues with that hasn't got a clue about football.

I think your over-rating him, easily in my top 5(Alba, Marcelo, Coentrao, Clichy, Cashley.) Cashley on a free, Kolarov sold for 6 million would be a fantastic deal.

A few years ago absolutely, now... not needed! Clichy is fantastic. If we ever go for another left-back (I can't see Kolarov being here much longer) then Lucas Digne is the next big thing and our scouts are on to him.

Neil Taylor would be good. He'd get games because Mancini rotates the fullback and would count as homegrown.

Quality left-backs are extremely hard to come by and he just so happens to be one of the best in the history of the Premiership. If Clichy is injured, he'd be fantastic back-up. Kolarov needs to shape up a bit, defensively.
On a free for 2 years? Would love to.

I think we could move Kolarov out in January, move Ashley Cole in and then look for another left-back in the summer that could end up being an understudy and eventual replacement to Clichy.

Cristian Ansaldi has gained some attention recently, Nicolai Boilesen was recently chased by Southampton and will be much better by this time next season and Jordi Alba could be worth nabbing from Barcelona if he fails to settle down over there. (I am aware that Jordi Alba is now more of a left-sided wing-back).

Cole has been one of the best left backs in the world for most of his career and IMO was the very best for a few years. Bit old though and not much point now with Gael and Kolarov

Dont need him, We have Richards, Maicon at right back with Clichy, Kolarov at left back and Zab can cover both positions and helan coming through.
