apologies, sometimes hard to judge

I'm not saying I'm old but knew them all as the Fleece, the Highland Laddie(city supporters club met there, late seventies),the Old Vaults and a working fire station.

Best thing in Ashton then, as earlier, and still now....The Witchwood.

There's a reason why those flash in the pan places you posted are gone, yet the Witchwood against all odds, continues yer know.....

used to love Sunday nights in Ashton.

Is Chute/Shute or however you spell it, still open?

Gone mate.

Heros is opening up as 'Velvet' in a few days after its previous name of 'The Underground' shut.

- Legends/Dr Browns/Yates - Gone
- Universal - Gone
- Pitt and Nelson - Gone
- Chambers - Gone
- I think the Old Fire Station also - Gone
- Beach Bar - Gone
- Camel - Gone
- Molly Malones - Gone
- Club Denial - Gone
- Bar One (amazing!) is now a solicitors.

Only surviving places from when i walked down Old St on a Friday night last year and it was a ghost town was Mynt Lounge (was The Loft/Loveshack), The Feathers, The Witchwood and possibly Olivers which is that downstairs bar next to Iceland.

Sad sight to see when i did the walk across from Indian Ocean to The Witchwood. 4 kids outside Mynt Lounge sat outside the steps, and Allans Fried Chicken (gone now as well) open. Absolutely nothing else, silence and darkness :-( Ashton had a reputation, but at its height it was better than Bridge ever will be. Rififi is fucking awful!

If a couple of my mates were out to watch the City game tonight i was going to pop down the Witchwood. I'd go but my mates are useless lately and won't go on my bill. They have a 'Thank Witchwood It's Thursday' night starting tonight but there's no details about what it is on their Facebook/Website/Twitter/Anything (said there would be details on the 8th, and the Facebook said they would post details today and that was at 14:00pm).

Is the old barn still there?

Haha!

Nah it looks like it turned into a Chinese.
