Aston Villa (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

You never thought that the squad would need a rebuild and we might have to go without Champions League football for a season or two? Seriously?

I didn't say that. Every squad has to be kept refreshed and evolving. What I said was I never expected such a huge drop off from where we were and so quickly. One win in twelve is relegation form. We took our eye off the ball and this is the result...and no a squad at the peak of success should never need a major rebuild or miss out on champions league football. They just add one or two top quality players each season to keep the continuity.

Too many touches, especially in midfield and defence. Zero movement from the centre of midfield and distinct lack of anyone wanting the ball.

Pep can call out for all the injured players to come back but whatever he's telling this crop of players to do, isn't the answer either.

The only tactic that worked in the first half was getting it to Grealish. It took us 10 minutes of the second half to do it again. Ridiculous really.
And, as usual, as soon as Cash got booked we never went near him again!
Surely Doku on committing Cash, Gundo off and Grealish in the middle running at them, would have had a chance?

Hesitate to mention this but I feel as if we might not - just possibly - not be the greatest team in the land and all the world at the moment.

We carried on from whete we left off against the scum.

Roll on January and get some new faces in as a reward for that fantastic away support today.

He was bad today.
Just today? He's bobbins, he's honestly (My opinion of course) one of the worst players I've ever seen play at City and I seen the likes of Richard Edghill.

Obviously I maybe over exaggerating a little but I just don't see a decent footballer in him.

Again as I've said before I hope I am proven wrong as he's on of us.
