In the lack of any updates on Gonzalez, I'm assuming Kovacic will be in the CDM role today?

Hopefully not on his own if that's the case. I would want Bernardo in there with somebody if Rodri and Gonzalez are unavailable.

Fingers crossed for Gonzalez.

Could mean either. Maybe it is game time decision. Given not ruled out yet I assume he will at least be on the bench. Which could help tighten things up in the last 20

Early goal by Haaland to shut up the villainous crowd. Three minutes will do. Another one by half time and then withstand the comeback when City stop.playing after a great first half, as they've done a few times this season. Luke to see Cherki on in the second half to give Villa something new to think about.

Always a tough away game, but if the City players want it more than them we should have enough to win the game.
Any early chance will need converting. We need that killing the game momentum from a couple of seasons ago, the likes of Doku and Savinho need to start chipping in with goals because they are getting very good chances.

Very dangerous team and let's not forget they have a history of winning the very, very best of trophies - winning the European Cup, something we could never do.

Dangerous all over the pitch and will expose our defensive weaknesses.

We're still not there and are lucky Utd had a tough start and Liverpool are having a dip. We've still got players who are not producing - everyone knows them - Savinho, Doku, Nunes Lewis and Foden, Gundogan and KdB are not the players they once were.....
And neither Gundogan or KdB are now playing for City. Is this a posting from last season or are you fishing?

That midfield is lightweight and Josko didn't exactly thrill at LB against Villareal. Presume Stones will move into midfield again from CB.

Very interesting, very attacking.

Bernardo and Reijnders need to be so disciplined and Foden has to help them.

Stones should help retain possession.

I thought Gvardiol struggled at left back in mid-week, needs to be better today.

A very technical side, arguably our most technical this season.
