Really intrigued by today. It will tell us a lot. Probably our biggest test since arsenal and we ironically have the advantage this time of playing Tuesday as opposed to them playing Thursday.

Win this and we are pretty much back.

1-2 city win imo
I do see this as a test too. They might be only 12th but they are back in form and in McGinn, Rogers and Watkins they have some really good players.

Whatever happens today, I am still going to feel positive about City as I think City have renewed our squad and there is more to come from it. MOTD yesterday posted a graphic to show that Chelsea had the youngest starting age this season but City were third, and I think City have just the right mix of experience and youth. We have a number of players in their young 20s who should improve significantly.

A year ago, I'd have been thinking that Villa's intensity might blow City away as we were an ageing side, but I like the look of our side. There are some intangibles that are difficult for a fan to gauge but I get the feeling that this team has a good spirit and is gathering in strength. I think the signing of Donnarumma was very important as it gives us an air of confidence.

I remember at Brentford when on one occasion they managed to break through one on one and Donnarumma saved it. Yesterday, on the stroke of half-time, Brentford burst through Konate and Van Dijk and the forward went one on one with the Liverpool keeper who was rooted on his line and easily scored. Donnarumma gives me confidence that we will be difficult to beat.

Very dangerous team and let's not forget they have a history of winning the very, very best of trophies - winning the European Cup, something we could never do.

Dangerous all over the pitch and will expose our defensive weaknesses.

We're still not there and are lucky Utd had a tough start and Liverpool are having a dip. We've still got players who are not producing - everyone knows them - Savinho, Doku, Nunes Lewis and Foden, Gundogan and KdB are not the players they once were.....

Let's take 1-1 now and hope some our lads start finding form in November.

Not a chance we should be taking a draw. We've been gifted a Liverpool mini-collapse and we need to keep shifting through the gears, because Arsenal are the only other team we should be wary of.

We're better than them. We should be beating them.

Blimey. I thought I was a pessimist.

I know the clocks have gone back but am I now stuck in a time warp?

Difficult game today, considering Villa’s form. Let’s see if those partnerships are progressing and how our defence stands up to a team that has scored a minimum of 2 in its last 3 PL games.

7 clean sheets out of 12 so far this season, would like to see another one.

I've got a feeling Arsenal will drop points today. This weekends results have gone our way ( except Rags ) so let's hope we can capitalise on them them.
My bet is City 2-0 winners AGAIN.

If you watch the 2nd half of Pep's pre-match press conference, you will find that he disagrees with you about Nunes and Savinho. I disagree with you about Doku and Foden.

He also talks about being consistent for 90 mins a game. That is something I think we will all agree with. We tend to play in 45 minute periods.

He mentioned dropping off after 65 mins roughly in games last season, the players being out on their feet so to speak,it’s similar this season hopefully it’s just to do with players getting up to speed after injuries and the lack of a proper pre season..
