Aston Villa (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Was the on decision a clear and obvious error? Would that have been given at certain other PL grounds in a similar scenario? I don’t think so. Maybe there’s arguments both ways on a pen or not but once ref hasn’t given it VAR should be nowhere near this IMO.
Said exactly the same from my seat in the East Stand.

An excellent performance to be proud of.
So I was at the game and haven't seen the penalty back.
I've heard comments like 'he got the ball but then got the player afterwards so it's a penalty'
WTF?
Also seen comments saying it wasn't a pen.
So blue tinted specs off and considering we won..
Was it a pen?
I've watched it on Sky Highlights and I think it's a pen. Dias knee catches Ramsey.

This summed up the second half for Aston Villa’s keeper… thought they would do what Arsenal did at ours second half…
BBC not fact checking…. When do they?
Was at the match as always… was great game… City dominated… had a few bad passes…. The referee was atrocious and lost the game with his decision making (the penalty given was VAR) if that is given why aren’t they all given? They usually only give those to LiVARpool.. like last weekend….
Anyhows off to Wembley Sunday (not Saturday as the bbc suggests )

I thought our press was spot on and they couldn’t get their build up going all night

We pushed them back and controlled the game for the most part

The muscle memory has kicked in for the old boys and they know how to close out a season

It’s not pretty but we look hard to beat again for the first time this season

Rashford - social conscience - I'm not arguing with that - it's good. But as a player, an attacker - 28 next birthday - 89 Prem goals in his entire career - ten years in the first team - is truly pathetic. But he plays with the attitude of someone who thinks he's way better than he actually is.
He was very unlucky with that opening run at Dias when he hit the post and it rebounded back to Ortega. But he went downhill after that. I don't get why Emery went with Rashford over Watkins against PSG and against City.

Watkins can't be happy - first Duran keeps him out of the side and now eight goals a season Rashford doing likewise.

A poor man’s Danny Welbeck

You absolute, 100% love to see it!
Made up for nunes, he’s had a really rough year not helped by his performances or the positions he’s been asked to play, but to be fair he’s never claimed to be a defender!

My prediction of an unbeaten end to the season remains alive! Imagine if we squeaked second haha
