Aston Villa (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

That game was one of the reasons it was time for a change. Too many players of insufficient quality, another half-arsed second half performance.

Roll on next season, with hopefully a fresh start.
To be fair mate we looked out of sorts but then we're bound to be. Nothing to play for after losing it at Bournemouth, the manager is going, probably others going and the captain too.

It wasn't the kind of game we were going to smash them 3-0. The 2hrs after the game were more important than the game.

Horrible performance from the 2nd string in the 2nd half.
Pep obviously let all the major players in the World Cup have the day off

It's Pep's farewell and yet the brass neck of MOTD to start speculating about the charges. They don't have a grain of sand on a beach of evidence of guilt. City - 7th highest Prem net spend of the last 5 years. City - 4th highest Prem net spend of the last 10 years. We crushed UEFA at CAS - and were happy to pay the fine for non-cooperation. Why cooperate with an organisation that's trying to screw you over. Lord Pannick has a reputation as one of the greatest lawyers on the planet. If his/his team's analysis has uncovered wrongdoing, he would be plea bargaining - not risking his reputation by claiming 'not guilty'. Arsenal are the main complainer to the Prem and yet we face a kangaroo court chaired by an Arsenal club member and season ticket holder. Tells you everything about the Prem. It's my humble opinion that the Prem has decided to screw us over regardless and we'll have to see them in a proper court of law to get justice.

Met some of their younger fans in a bar today before the game.
Have always found them a fan base who think they're far bigger than they actually are.
Our chat was quite friendly until one of them
started having a dig at our crowds.
As someone who looks into, and goes to most games, I mentioned going to an fa cup game at villa park as recently as ten years ago, when the crowd was less than 24k and that included 6k plus City fans.
They did'nt believe me, so I just said check with google.
Then we left them to it.

Didn't even show the bollocks off an offside for foden, 1 thing pissed me off today, a corner in the dying seconds Trafford comes up all the players In the box, and we play it short and lose it, just why?

I don't see like that. First half was superb and should have scored more. So the effort and desire was there.

Second half - like many this season - was dismal.

A class act from the Villa to give Bernie and Stonesy a guard of honour as they were subbed off.

The irony of Bernardo receiving a thoroughly sportsmanlike, enthusiastically participated in guard of honour from the opposition, was I’m sure not lost on anybody in the stadium

Would have been piss funny if everyone in the line up was quickly handed a a cuppa.

Pretty much this. The actual football game was merely a side note, and so it should have been under the circumstances.

MOTD at it again. They don't like Villa's guard of honour. The Villa players showed class - they don't need MOTD's approval.

Even some of our fans said they wouldn't want us giving a voluntary guard of honour for other clubs players.

I wouldn't mind, even if was someone like Salah who was the main player for our main rivals in this era. It's good sportsmanship to recognise players who contributed a lot.

As annoying as it is, you've have to accept that any other team and we would be having a kick off too. The charges dragging on this long are bringing a ton of suspicion.

Its fair game for everyone to have an opinion and it's unfortunate that it has been allowed to go on. If I take my blue hat off, it's completely unacceptable to continue to drag on.

Wasn’t going to get too down on the result until VAR had to have yet another anti-City decision at the last minute which encapsulated the season.
Onwards and erm erm upwards
Love this club.
