Aston Villa (H) Post Match Thread

Yesterday had me thinking back to Wembley 99 and the supporter beside me who snapped his flag over his knee roaring “the F***ers have done it to me again” when Bob Taylor made it 2-0. Yesterday after City repeated their Wembley and QPR trick of destroying their fans nerves before going on to win, I was definitely thinking “the F***ers have done it me again.”

In 99 it seemed as City just gave us enough hope only to crush it, nowadays we flirt with disaster and then eventually find our way to glory. Incredible.

Without the first one the last 2 would never have happened. The most important game in the clubs history

I have this theory in my head that when the scores were 2-0 Villa and 1-1- in the other game that it was super crucial for City's belief and courage that City scored the next goal. I think it would have been mighty difficult to not let shoulders slump and let it impact them mentally had news filtered through that Liverpool were winning 2-1 before City pulled one back, knowing it's basically score 3 goals or bust.
Even more incredible, we scored all 3 before they managed to grab the lead. All that emotion and we were top of the league for all of it bizarrely
