Aston Villa (H) Post Match Thread

In the main we have accepted that players come and players go for their own reasons - ambition, location, game time, family etc and they don't suddenly need to become public enemy number one for having the temerity to change clubs.
Wish some of our fans understood this RE: Milner. The guy signed a five-year deal, won 4 trophies with us, then decided to go when his deal expired. Fair enough, if you ask me.

So he celebrated a goal against us and said he liked his new club. Big whoop? We'd have been singing his praises for "giving it to the fucking Scousers" if he'd moved from Anfield to come to City.

Cue everyone coming up with "valid reasons" why giving Milner stick is fine, actually, because, as you said yourself, the whole thing is a pantomime.

Yep, Milner is one of the few exceptions where our fans let themselves down. Sturridge and Distin are the other two. Milner moved for game time, obviously, and we didn't miss him. I presume some of our fans don't like players who run down their contracts, but that's just common financial sense from him. I haven't seen anyone slag off Haaland for having and activating a small release clause which we took advantage of.

It's genuine pantomime when fans call players "greedy bastards" for simply maximising the return on their abilities for the families and futures. Pretty much everyone in the world does that.

A high percentage of football fans are biased idiots with no sense of proportion whatsoever. That's why football is a bit like pantomime. Boooooo. Hissssss. The 50/50 decision should have been give our way. No it should have been given our way. That ref is on your side. Oh no he isn't. Hissss. Boooo. He's behind you.

I saw a quote from a Liverpool fan yesterday, totally matter of fact, totally unchallenged by anyone. He said "Mo Salah is one of the biggest heros the Kop has ever had. But if he leave this summer he becomes the biggest mercenary traitor in the history of the club".

If he leave he just wants to leave you moron. There could be many different reasons why that is. I like to think that at City much of our fanbase is a lot more balanced than most other clubs. In the main we have accepted that players come and players go for their own reasons - ambition, location, game time, family etc and they don't suddenly need to become public enemy number one for having the temerity to change clubs.

Look at how we treated SWP when he left compared to how Villa treat Grealish.

We never held anything against Shaun or even Chelsea. In fact, I remember wanting him to do well.

Will never grow bored watching this.

Amazing drama,....what a Club......what a set of fans.

As I’ve never tired of watching the final five minutes of the QPR game, I will never tire of watching that.

It was a magical five-minute spell, and I feel so privileged that Mrs Vienna and I were there together to witness it.

Just watching the last 35 mins, AGAIN, and one thing is very clear, Gary Ratboy’s contribution was basically a number of oohs and OGS and a bloody hell, as well as not being able to count to 3 (subs). He has no great tactical knowledge, and is frankly speaking a useless fucking ****

edit there was a 2 min stoppage in injury time, yet Michelle only added on 25 seconds, usually works against us but how fucking hard is it to tell the time
Somebody suggested, earlier in this thread, that Oliver cut the injury time because of Villa’s time-wasting.

You take the Mrs to the footy? I always had you down as being a sensible bloke Vienna

Oh no it isn't.

I think the Milner reaction is partly because he said some things that sounded rather disrespectful to City, and partly as a dubious equivalence to Liverpool fans' treatment of Sterling.

Ignore ignore ignore it. Its banter, you wont change it, as much as no one will change the scousers hatred (Still after 7 years!) of Sterling.

But yes I totally agree, its boring and small minded now after years and years of it, we're no better than lfc?

Good on her mate, and good choice of wife (or did she choose you)
We met on the BBC’s original 606 forum.

She told me that I was the first person to reply to her online. Our first date was City 2 West Ham 0 - Samaras scored both.

They were the last two home goals we saw at Etihad that season.

Milners a monkey **** end of. Wasn't even honest with our club. Nothing would have happened if he'd not run his contract down. The monkey faced **** moved for a big fuck signing on fee nottoplaycentre mid. The guy is an absolute boring fraud. The ironic things he isn't good to be considered as a City purchase now. I despise the **** with an unbridled passion. At least he's not signed an extra years extension with us.
