Aston Villa (H) Post Match Thread

The great Brian Clough said that he’d rather win the title than the European Cup, as it was then, as it showed consistency over a nine month period, not just a bit of luck in a few games.
Luck along with the inevitable decisions favouring the hierarchy teams. Though what happened with the disallowed Real Madrid goal against LiVARpool, makes me wonder as Real Madrid would seem to be top of the hierarchy. LiVARpool got similar game changing decisions in the league and cups.

In theory a team could win the Champions league by losing six games ( 3 group matches and 3 legs in each of the knockout rounds) .This would equate to losing 46% of the matches in the competition. There is no way that a team could lose 46% of its matches in the premier league and hope to win it.

Watched the whole game several times now. Lots of great things after 75 mins, but the absolute game changer is KDB winning that ball to cross for gundog's winner. He had absolutely no right to win that ball and it was just absolute determination.
Somethings seem pre ordained such as the way Pablo Zabaleta scored against QPR when the ball loopped up in the air after the save, over the goalkeeper and dropped in the top corner of the net. Same with the way the ball arched towards Kevin De Bruyne and away from the defender. There was still a lot of work to do and KDB had to be alert and determined. It was a magical moment. CHAMPIONS!

Is there really any need for that? I was only suggesting that Ferna at centre back would not be my choice that was all and some posters agree with me. It's a forum - surely that's what it is about, debate?
For you to come back with that remark is disgusting to be honest and I am very upset. I won't bother posting comments next time, there is always someone in the world to bring you down.
Sunday was emotional for me anyway as I lost my dad and I wanted him to be there with me and he wasn't, he never will be now.
Anyway thanks for your kind words.
I'm sorry to hear about your dad. My dad died a long time ago. I know he would be extremely happy about what is happening with City. What you wrote about some posters agreeing with you reminded me of a poem. I can't remember it exactly but it goes something like this,

Two prisoners looking out from behind bars, one looking at the mud, the other looking at the stars. Look to the stars mate. Best Wishes.

Thank you, it's been hard but we have to deal with these things

Are you thinking of The Pretenders song. Message of Love.
A couple of the lines are -
"We are all of us in the gutter,
Some of us are looking at the stars".

I remember a drawing of two prisoners behind bars and the words at the side. It might have been a meme? The sentiment is the same though, thanks. The Pretenders are a brilliant band.
