Aston Villa Thread 2016/17

It'll be interesting to see what sort of reception Bruce gets off those charming Villa fans, given his bluenose connections. They didn't exactly roll out the red carpet for McLeish.
I can see this being their Coppell moment.

Asked this question to a Villa mate of mine the other day.

He said he's not arsed,as he hasn't come straight from Birmingham and it's been years since he was there.

Shows how desperate they really are in my opinion.

No, it shows you the mental gymnastics all football fans are capable of in the pursuit of glory.

Didn't see too many demos outside the main entrance against Mark Leslie Hughes around the time of his appointment.

I remember we were satisfied with his appointment at the time. Convinced he could step us up a level like Gollum at Everton.

To be fair, desperation is a relative concept. I started under Tony Book and, leaving out the ones I liked, that still leaves this sad list; John Benson, Billy McNeil, Jimmy Frizzell, Mel Machin, Alan Ball, Steve Coppell, Phil Neal, Frank Clark and Stuart Pearce.
Also, Bruce is highly likely to get them promoted.

After he's took them down first though?

Isn't that how he usually manages it?

Yeah, I think he'll do alright for them in the long run and will probably get them promoted eventually. Can't see it happening this season though.
