I may be in a minority of one but I don't mind Gerrard. He is better off out of that club in all honesty. They were good before 1066.

Gerrard is another great player who has flopped as a manager. Watching Villa recently though it was clear they were very limited tactically. They were playing dinosaur football, just hitting the ball long and into the channels and then chasing the second ball. It was Tony Pulis/Sam Allardyce style. It's incredible how shit most English managers were and still are. Gerrard spent his whole career at one club, perhaps that was the problem. He needed wider experience.

Gerrard was tactically inept as a footballer and was saved by his all energy, goal scoring/assisting abilities.

It’s why he and Lampard could never control a midfield for England.

Only surprise is he lasted s long as he did. He spent an absolute fortune at Villa and failed to improve them, they've arguably gone backwrds. Dean Smith would have done a much better job had he had that money. There goes his Liverpool dream job.
