How anyone can fault Navas' contributions thus far is beyond my understanding—he has been one of our most productive players and is our only player that can come on and change our tactics (nearly everyone else is just a like-for-like option to freshen things up).

Know nothings know nothing.

Yes great impact player but shouldn't start hard games not good enough!

Can't say I agree completely. I can say he shouldn't start every match, as tactics are integral to success, but I honestly think we would have won against Chelsea if he had started. That match was screaming out for width to pull them out of shape (not to mention they looked very uncomfortable on the right for most of the first half).

Just one man's opinion, though.

Two man's, I agree with you.

I'm a big fan of Navas.

Not saying we were great by any means, but seconds away from an away draw in Munich, and a draw against a side with a 100% record in their league isnt really slagging material I would have thought.

Do you really think now is the appropriate time to pour rationality into the crucible? Gird yourself with a pitch-fork and flaming torch, as we're but ninety minutes from sheer hysteria!

5-1 City and Toure hat-trick. :-)
great dogged performances against Bayern and Chelsea, embarrassingly poor against Roma, a combination of lack of belief, and poor tactics from Pellegrini .
A win today should keep the pitchforks at bay for a week!

Rightly or wrongly its fodder for pundits if I can call them that being as polite as I can if not inaccurate in my description of them for a side that they think should be winning in Bayern against and understrength Bayern sideand winning well against a side at home with 5 of their best players out through injury and illness etc.

I wasn't all that fussed with the Bayern result to be honest although we would always take a point at the Allianz.

At home I was disappointed with the way we played especially after getting off to a flier but it followed the Hull match and the Arsenal match as well to some degree where we don't have the arsenal to clobber a side we get on top of.

In saying that all things considered and while its no excuse for our stuttering start only Chelsea ( to what you would expect ) and Southampton have started on song to some degree and the results have followed suit.

With Liverpool its more or less how far they can go in the League Cup and whether they can finish ahead of Basle.

Too much is made of how you are positioned after too few games mind you and of course I would have rather us be on 16 points at this stage but you can't help but think that all things being equal there are only two sides that can win the title this year and none of them are of the red variety.

There is more upside to us than all the other sides bar Chelsea in my opinion and they will drop points when not expected for sure.

The fact that no one is saying that Liverpool is other than a side in transition (LOL) says it all I would suggest.

thompson the big nose tw*t , jumps aboard the "slag city off" band wagon , approx 20 minutes of pure negativity towards us , the next match preview , the almighty all conquering chelski , and they are all jizzing over costa, fabregas , mourinho etc. If we do win the premiership this season , it will be amusing watching these c*nts back track at 100mph.

1 point isn't a good start, but the performances have been better than the media said.

My brother didn't go, but he's convinced City were rubbish after he watched it on TV. I'm sure that's because his opinion is being distorted by the barrage of negative comment. Disappointing night, but in the end they were hanging on. We've drawn at home to teams like Dortmund, and Napoli before and been lucky to do so. This time we were the better team.

Wouldn't quite go that far but Dortmund and Napoli did give us more of a run around.

What concerns me more about of performances this year is that we never give the impression we are in complete control of the game for long perios of time.

I thought we deserved a point against Roma but the performance it terms of what we can produce and should produce was under par.

If we were at our clinical best we would have beaten Chelski comfortably as we would have against Arsenal.

Other than us Chelski's only real test this season came against Schalke of all teams who are not exactly setting the Bundes on fire so far but showed how you can handle Chelski on their patch with pressing, hard work and a smart set up.

A comfortable win lets say ala Spurs at home last season without the exact goal fest would do me fine and ensure what few hairs I have left on my scone hang around for a couple more weeks at least.

You know our side in all likelihood won't give us that piece of mind in 95 minutes of football but we are due a complete performance with little angst by our boys now.

Hopefully it starts today.
