I did wonder if Richards might be injured as he didn't even make the bench?

He took a number of knocks against Newcastle, so it never even crossed my mind when he wasn't on the bench, I assumed he was injured.

Clichy usually gets the bench spot ahead of Richards as it provides the option of pushing Kolarov forward into midfield. Richards can only cover CB (although Mancini never plays him there) but we've usually got one on the bench
