At Which Point...

I know it's a bit soft, but I got a bit teary when yaya scored. I'd been a nervous wreck all day, and when that ball hit the back of the net I was just overcome. I have never experienced a cup final in my lifetime, and when the final whistle went I was so overjoyed it was untrue. I was in norwigian blue in the printworks, and it went mad, people just hugging and bouncing with complete strangers, we were one big city family, best day of my life. :0)

abide with me--felt the weight of history on my shoulders.
had my two daughters, grand daughter, daughter in law and Mrs. D.D. round for the game, grand daughter aged 6 had home shirt, blue socks trousers and shoes, two scarves and flag.
Had a bottle of very nice champers on the rocks, and when Carlos hoisted the pot, eldest daughter popped the cork in perfect synchronicity, afraid to say I lost it completely.
Also it was wonderful to see all the blues on the road out the door, singing and generally acting daft.
Was at Newcastle in'68, Wembley in '55 '56 and 76, Prater stadium in '70, but watching the emotion in my offspring was the best ever.

-- Sun May 15, 2011 1:50 pm --

abide with me--felt the weight of history on my shoulders.

Abide with me,the national anthem the final whistle and when carlos lifted the trophy in that order.
Oh and one more the realisation of how much the two trips to wembley has cost me financially lol.

Abide with me. It just hit me that we'd finally made it to the final, after thinking I'd never see it. After the final whistle I think I was too happy to shed a tear.

After the presentation, seen a guy to my right on the row infront who i have seen at many away games for many years, shook his hand and we bolth had tears in our eyes.

Cried when I had to leave my son outside the Stadium, I had a ticket , he didn't. Then filled up again when he was standing at the bar in block127. Managed to get a spare at face value
So a massive thankyou to the lad who sold his tickets to me Lad.

right through injury time, then again singing We Are The Champions. Very cheesy when any other team sings it, fuckin fantastic when sang by us blues!!

final whistle, after all the rubbish weve watched and suffered through the years but more importantly to see my two 14 year old sons absolutly bouncing up and down and the realisation that we have arrived back
the hugs when we scored as the three of us went mental were also a family moment i will never ever forget
