Our unwanted striker, Caicedo, just sank Atletico 2-0 last week. All Atletico's superstars (Aguero, Forlan, Reyes, Simao, ...) were there too.

Superstars = Reyes

Where did you buy your crack?

Heard a huge fuss about Aguero but not seen much of him tbh. With regards to De Gea - the scum got their noses pushed out pretty quickly on that one, so could be something in it, but unlikely I think.

Think Mancini is a pretty good judge of player - he probably has a better idea of what we need and what kind of player will perform will in our league now, so if we go for them, then I'll get excited about the possibility, Until then, just two more names on the media circulation list. Apparently in January we will be buying all or some the following players:

Maicon
Dani Alves
Fábio Coentrão
David Luiz
Stefan Radu
Javi Martinez
David De Gea
Sergio Aguero
Jefferson Farfan
Juan Vargas
Gervinho
Edin Dzeko
Fernando Torres
Andy Carroll
Hulk
Bruma
Rogelio Funes Mori
Javier Pastore
Mark Van Bommel
Nathan Ake
Gai Assulin
Jano Aninidze
Alan
Bastien Schweigsteiger
Antonio Cassano
Mirko Vucinic
Daniel Carrico
Maxi Pereira
Eden Hazard
Cristian Zapata
Šime Vrsaljko
Jordan Henderson
Pablo Insua
Frank Acheampong
Thomas Mueller
Romelo Lukaku
Victor Ruiz
Landon Donovan
Matty Gilkes
Jason Steele
Renato Agusto
Douglas Costa

Am sure I have forgotten a hundred more or so, but I'm already booking the entire of January off work to sit there with my Stella and popcorn in front of SSN. Hoping for a hand-held mini-vac for Christmas, then I'm all set.

well they got one right as we signed assulin already

he hasen't sighned for us yet although he has played a game for reserves

Re: Aguero anyone?

Actually I'm more interested in the actual deal than the first option on Atletico's players. It sounds like Atletico have lined City up to be the piece de resistance in a worldwide network of clubs who will work together to combat debt in the game as well as essentially giving each club all the resources of every other club in the alliance. Some of the names are a little..."lesser-known", such as Raja Casablance of Morocco (admittedly they have won the African Champions League three times), Muangthong United of Thailand (not owned by Thaksin, before anyone asks) and Shanghai Shenhua but there's also Club America, one of the big clubs of Mexican football (which is actually a very strong nation for club football), Al-Ain - a big Middle Eastern team and Atletico itself - and in the next few months they plan on wrapping up deals with MLS teams, Brazilians and a Japanese side.

It sounds like the general idea is to market the alliance as a kind of union of clubs - we would share sponsorship deals (which could lead to some mega-deals being announced) with an element of financial cooperation, and they want to market the teams together to expand the global image of each.

It might turn out to be one of those types of things where actually, after the agreement is signed you hear nothing more about it, but I'd be very interested to see what this could achieve if all the teams involved really throw their weight.

Re: Aguero anyone?

Aww yeah, Atletico are my Spanish club as they remind me of us, happy if we have signed an agreement with them. I do feel Aguero is a bit too much like Tevez though and not the player we need right now.

Re: Aguero anyone?

Oh yeah, and the article seems to think we'll hold a pre-season tournament in August with all the teams (or some of them) too.

Re: Aguero anyone?

Would love Aguero here, hes a class act and will only get better. Maybe should score more goals but hes still young. We wont sign De Gea when we have Hart unless Mancini wants him instead of Hart but i cant see that happening.

Re: Aguero anyone?

Atletico are the team of the Madridleños in their city, as we are the team of the Mancunians - not merely a commercial campaign but poingnant symbolism at its best
