Atletico Madrid v Chelsea

Been championing Falcao for a long time and today he proved again he can do it against any club at any level. He has scored for Atletico against the two best sides in the world, Barcelona and Real Madrid. He took the piss out of Chelsea earlier. He is just an absolute machine, IMO the best striker on earth outside of Ronaldo and Messi. I'd love him here and with Van Persie joining the disease carriers and Cavani renewing with Napoli feel he could be a target of ours next summer.

Also...

In January 2009 River Plate offered Falcao to Villa for £7m. Martin O'Neill decided to go with Emile Heskey instead.

Why do you need to sign Zidane when we've got Tim Sherwood?

Just shows that a decent attacking team will tear that Chelsea team apart. You can have all the Eden Hazards you want, but when you've got that back 4 playing for you, you're going to ship goals. I would have expected 9 points from playing Newcastle, Wigan and Reading.

Bit harsh on Chelsea. They are getting used to a new system with a lot of new players. They have bought wisely, but this year will take time to gel. Lampard is just not good enough to start for them any more and it is made worse, by the fact that he just does not fit into the new system. They looked much better in the Newcastle game with Meireles there. The Mourinho team had a fitting end and need to move on.

I don't even think the back four was the problem. It was the lack of cover the midfield gave. When you have world class players running at your back 4 time and time again even the best defense is going to struggle. Having said that, it was not a good defensive performance. They need to move Ramires into central midfield at some point. His legs and energy will give them cover. Hazard also needs to put a shift in. He should take note from Silva on how to work hard for the team despite being a flair player.

On a positive note. Falcoa is not half bad is he.

Last year on a thread talked about Batistuta, I wrote a comment saying Falcao reminded me of Batistuta, then I realised that I hadn't watched him enough (Falcao). I didn't want to be laughed, so I deleted my comment.
Now I still haven't watched him enough but I think Falcao is quicker and more mobile than Batigol was (not saying that Falcao is better than Bati).

Fucking pisses me off that when we have no stake in it, Chelsea goes back to being crap but when we need them to lose, they beat the best teams in Europe.

The moment chelsea play someone decent and actually try to play football and they get their arses handed to them.

Not sure this new CFC could do the same job they did on Bayern etc last season. Oscar and Hazard are quality on the ball. What a waste it would be to ask them to sit deep behind the ball.

Also Terry and Cole are slipping

surprised by the score, but not surprised they lost. I watched the 3 games they have played and havent looked great. Defensively they have been poor and if wigan could finish, they would have got few, reading got 2 and could have more and Newcastle had chances, even though they were very defensive.

Chelsea has massive problems in central midfield. lampard and Mikel lack legs and are not very mobile. As they attack alot, they will be very vulnerable on the break as those 2 cant recover the ball quick enough
