I know this has been done before but responses are always mixed and keen to hear people's most recent thoughts. About to buy tickets for some games, in terms of the best atmosphere which section would you say is the best at the moment?

I don't get to as many games as I'd like for reasons obvious from my login name, but from the ones I have gone to I've always loved the atmosphere in the 116 area, but some seem to think the 111 area is better?

While I'm asking the controversial questions, if anyone wants to make the case that Mary D's isn't the best pre-match pub I'd be interested to hear it (bearing in mind I only care about atmosphere, not the alleged crap beer as I usually drink J&D anyway).

I'm in 110 and I love it. Couldn't tell you about the south stand because I've never stood there, always on the East Stand side. But you should be fine with either.

Atmosphere is crap in both 110,111 both seem to stand their comparing who`s got the biggest bollocks with the away fans.

The south stand in a past life was good but seems to have died down recently.

As a neutral up untill last season I would have said 110/111 but now they have gone quiet. The southstand havent got louder but 110/111 just got worse

Not sure you'll be able to pick and choose where you go. Every PL game has sold out so far. You're more likely to end up at the back of level 3 the way things are going.

As far as Marys D's goes - the back room caters for a certain type of clientele - not my thing at all. Each to their own - I'd rather the lads that like to sing and get hammered have a place they can do that without offending anyone - everyone knows what it's like and what to expect so enter at your own risk. The front parts ok as people just stand around watching the tv if theres a game on or just chatting.

Good luck with the tickets

Yeah I'm aware it won't be easy, but I want to at least go into it with an idea of a section to ask to be in ... or at least near.

I, obviously, prefer 109-111 but ultimately the atmosphere is what you make of it.

Hate Mary Ds with a passion, if the weather is alright then you can't beat shambles.

I don't rate your chances of getting tickets in either block for League games - but you can pick and choose for Champions League games. Atmosphere next to away fans at home to Ajax will be amazing.

Don't think there's much to choose between 116 and 111

I can't write a new thread yet so ask here.

I am looking for a magnificient athmo of Kippax '70-ies, 80's. Do you know any movies, clips from these beautiful years ? ...
