Atmosphere 2024/25

Makes sense that there's a back story to it as it's not a song I've previously associated with Palace fans. Very poignant.

Fair fucks to the HF when they're doing stuff like that and organising singing sections like Saturday's. Nicking Leicester's flags when all their fans had left the stadium, and hundreds of ticketless HF forcing their way into the away end at Brighton, preventing hundreds of legitimate ticket-holding Palace fans getting in is where they've let themselves down in the past.

As you say, we're going to have to be right on it if we're going to match them in the stands. Sunday was a promising sign that we might give it a good go though.

Is that definitely true about the flares? If it is then we absolutely need to try and get permission to do the same
FA Cup Finals have a way of looking after themselves with atmoshpere because everyone just grabs a seat wherever they can when they become eligible and this usually means that vociferous fans get spread around in the top tiers and the songs carry.

This. Need to get them telescopic flags in the stands as well, even if it's just for the pre match and players walk out

@Manchester33 are there any plans to take the telescopics in?

I don't know about the flares. Just can't see how it would have been allowed personally, just got told that the fire brigade were there ready and waiting which he took as it being pre-agreed but is probably more based on a risk assessment and expectation they'd smuggled some in, as they have done before.

As for the atmosphere on the day I think we'll have a good battle with them and it all depends on how the game plays out. Forest never recovered from that early goal. Stunned them. Palace have more recent experience of Wembley and losing the final of course so will probably be a bit more resilient. But we've been there and done it plenty of times. For me, much depends on when the kick off is. If it's too late in the day I can see it being a bit more flat from our side because based on previous finals I've seen plenty of blues go over the edge in terms of alcohol consumption by that stage!

Thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't give a fuck about the empty seats. Atmosphere in 128 was great. Thought Forest were pretty quiet, considering it was their first Wembley trip in years.

Expensive day out yes, but memories of a fantastic day if my eldest boy are priceless.
Weren't Forest there in the play offs a couple of years ago?

Just posted about this. Asked my Palace supporting mate and he seemed to think it was all pre-arranged as there were members of the fire brigade standing by.

I doubt that's true myself given the way football is policed, but that was his take!
they would be there anyway, deffo not approved as always against the law unfortunately. All those with flares at front had ski masks on like scots always do and other Euro clubs.

Displays, flags, scarves, bananas, banners and all that don’t make atmosphere. Noise does. All City fans need to do is belt out the classic songs regularly and no ultras or cheese or anything else can beat it.
a big display like against Arsenal or like that 2007 game against United where all blues was given a blue and white scarf think it does somehow improve the atmosphere as when more blues do something together it encourages more people to join in with the atmosphere as well I think

In terms of a Wembley display I think something like ticker tape or balloons would be the most visually impactful thing to do. I don’t think it would cost as much either.

Maybe we could copy something from the past

Scarves for every fan is the best display we’ve ever had, at home to United in 2007.

Just 18 years ago, the quality of camera phones wasn’t great, but these videos captured a bit of it.

It looked absolute quality with every fan swinging the scarf above their heads.

Isn't that what Forest did on Sunday?
Leeds did it last night.

They did it for last season in the playoffs too. The guy who paid for them - whose a friend of a friend - only paid a quid a time so spent around 36k. He’s a multi-millionaire that runs the BoxT boiler company.
