Atmosphere 2024/25

Maybe all the Spurs fans were in shock?
Spurs fans were quiet because they knew deep down there was always a chance that we could come back. They have ‘Typical Spurs’ mentality worse than we have ‘Typical City’ mentality.

Hypothetical. Wishful thinking. Was never going to happen. Deluded jrb! Lol!

If City had made all of NSL2 safe standing. Put a 1000 capacity singing section at the front and across the bottom of NSL2. And targeted the singing section at City fans who do want to sing by asking them to apply to go into the singing section, then the club would have created something approaching an atmospheric home end. Obviously, with the loss of significant match day revenue compared to the current North stand plans.
It’s annoying what the club have proposed… really really annoying, in fact!

But we have to commandeer NSL2 for ourselves. Get as many moving there as possible so that it doesn’t matter that the club will plug the gaps with nobodies because there’ll be more than enough of us there to make up for it.

We’ve got to take over NSL2 and not let the club force us to stop moving there with their tactics which are trying to stop us moving there.

Make NSL2 our vocal stand ourselves!

This thread will always get bumped because atmosphere is as important to football fan culture as the football is.

You always talk about the atmosphere being discussed like it’s a problem, when it’s actually a point of interest to fans as much as tactics, performances, players, transfers, opposition teams, finances, stadiums or any other aspect of football.

The atmosphere being discussed is completely normal.
Yep, some people like a happy atmosphere, get that. If that's your bag and it's important, great. But the constant beating ourselves up and linking it to performance, is ridiculous imo.

I’m starting to think similar. Could the north stand expansion actually make the atmosphere worse. My fear is that some fans will move to the north stand and there former seats will then be sold onto corporates or as match day tickets.

So we might end up with more singers around the ground, but in smaller sections. With more sections becoming corporate in between

Hopefully I’m wrong.
The answer is substantially pre emptive.

Shift the away fans down to the shit location of ESL1 & round the corner flag...
awful acoustics & views

Make all SSL3/2 & most of SSL1 all City......great acoustics and views.

9000 City fans in there will make a racket....but do it for the start of 25/26 season.

We've currently got singers spread out/divided. Put them all together on top of the away fans and see the difference.

It can be achieved at little cost, with no compromise to segregation/security/logistics or sight lines.

A cogent case can be presented to the authorities supporting the move with the added benefit of improving H&S....no missiles launched down on to City fans.

Additionally, the stadium capacity will increase by virtue of reducing segregation/safety zones.

Imo, it's the first long term move to create a stadium set up that we've needed since CoM stadium was opened.

Did you even read the thread yesterday? Everyone was saying how great we were last night after watching our team get beaten 4-0

Yes I did thanks.
Also the usual dissenters saying it was poor and links to performance.
For those thinking it links to performance - lost 4 nil at home and an abject display, despite how great it was.
Obviously nicer to be in a vibrant "atmosphere", but so what if it isn't.

If you don't care if the atmosphere is good or not, that's completely fine I'm guessing it's not really your thread.

I for one really care about the atmosphere at the Etihad, and thoroughly belive a good atmosphere can have a really positive effect on the players, as well as a negative effect on the opposition.

Been there when it's been great - and we've lost, been there when it's been poor - and we've won. And the other ways around, granted.
Don't think it affects performance in the way we're brow beaten into thinking it does. Managers, players, own fans etc.
Anyway, you're right - leave you to your thread. Watching us respond and the opposition fold, will be great.

Will agree to disagree with you on this one mate
