Atmosphere 2024/25

I agree. Wembley in particular, villa fans were horrendous. Starting on people and throwing drinks on people going up Wembley way.

Is it a midlands thing? As it’s similar with wolves and others. So many dck heads
Until recently I've always felt Villa fans were alright in the main. Villa Park was certainly a less naughty place to visit than St Andrews or Molineux. But since they came back up in 2019 they've turned into right jumped-up pricks. That League Cup Final in 2020 is a classic case in point. I didn't actually witness any trouble myself but I'm sure most of us have now heard about the 50-odd year old Villa fan punching a 9 year old City fan after the game.

Obviously it's not all Villa fans of course. Last night before the game I was involved in the ticket price demonstration and was handing out leaflets. A fair few Villa fans took one and were very supportive, as of course were many of our own fans. In fact, the biggest prick I encountered was a half-and-half scarf seller who was also a City season ticket-holder. He's entitled to his own opinion of course but some of the shite he was coming out with regarding those of us protesting was utterly nonsensical. One of his fellow scarf sellers was a United fan yet he got exactly what it was all about.

Most of the United scarf sellers are Sckusers who like a good protest.

Good effort with the protest last night. I cut down on my Asahi dries in support. Just heard Talkshite being supportive of the stance on excessive ticket prices.

Hope everyone who left early and missed that goal felt sick to the stomach.. after all the last minute winners/moments we've had in the last 25 years since Gillingham, I've never understood the mass exodus on 80 minutes. Must have missed hundreds of goals over the years!

I think it was the super sized Arteta taking the young Haaland away.

Anyway, good effort with the campaign. I will be rejoining the protest for the Wolves games, unless it’s called off.

It was a dad and lad FFS, with the " please don't take my City away" City tried being funny fuckers with a tweet and totally missed the point and rightfully got blasted for it

Very bad atmosphere at the start of the game. However it picked up. By the 2nd half there was sustained chanting from the back of my block (305) and that was from match-day fans because it was a group of fans in the back-rows. I also heard the North Stand signing when there were a stream of corners at their end.

I loved the late winner and the atmosphere as we left the ground but then that's what crucial late winners do. I think what we saw was a team lifting the crowd which is almost always what happens. The crowd did at least respond.

I saw a bottle go over between the Nexen bridge and the away fan car park at the end but there was nothing major going on. I didn't see any problems on the walk home. I heard a lot of Villa fans talking about how bad they were.

The lad and dad sit a couple of rows in front of me (from City’s tweet) so real fans. Just for info.

You knew what the 1894 flag was about and I sort of guessed it. It did cause some confusion they affected the atmosphere early doors.

I’m not sure how it caused confusion. I thought it was pretty easy to understand - maybe that was just me. All the leaflets being handed out beforehand made it clear as well

Trains leave at certain times, people have work in the morning and want to dodge an extra 30mins of traffic, etc.

It's great that you can stay until the end every single game because you don't have these problems but I'm not sure how mocking who do is really a good thing. Still, nice of you to find a way to feel superior to other Blues.

I didn't say they weren't real fans but City knew what they were doing posting the picture, no claim that they were actors

I don't feel it affected the atmosphere, was decent and then Villa got the penalty which then got everyone nervous.

How would the leaflets that the overwhelming majority of fans didn’t have give clarification.

Here’s a tip for future banners. Put the Dad in a blue top.

fair enough on night games, but what's the excuse for weekend games? it's happened for years you can't deny that. and I'm not mocking it, merely making the point that the more you leave early the more great moments you miss at the match

FWIW, there were far less leaving early last night than did against Palace in the previous home game. It would have been more understandable if more left early last night for the reasons you mention, whereas Palace was a lunchtime Saturday kick-off in blazing sunshine so I'd have expected more to stay until the end of that one than actually did. I thought it was great that a good number stayed last night and it added to the atmosphere at the end when we got the winner.

Search @weare1894 on twitter or if you received a leaflet last night there is a QR code
Cheers mate. However, I'm not on Twitter or any social media and I wasn't able to attend last night.

I'll be at Wembley and Wolves game so will keep an eye out for leaflet.

Wife is on Facebook though so do the supporters that arrange the banners etc have a Facebook page where a donation link could be available?

As I say, I don't know people's personal situations. They're probably not leaving because they're bored. And considering it costs three quarters of a million quid for a ticket now, I guess they can leave whenever they want. It's not like the atmosphere is wonderful and the early leavers are ruining this.

Most peole missing last night’s winner got what they deserved. I felt for a young woman who was made to leave on 90 minutes by her Dad. Missing the Nunes winner was a travesty.
