Atmosphere 2024/25

Still trying to work out that all the chatter about the Forest atmosphere was actually about pre-match stuff or whether I was just in a pocket of the ground that masked their noise. I was in 133 and got into my seat ten minutes before kick-off and I thought they were shite, as quiet as I've heard anyone at Wembley. Thought Watford were 10x better and we gave them a proper kicking.

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure nobody gave a toss about empty seats at football grounds until the social media era. Nowadays rival fans are absolutely obsessed with it.

5000 fans couldn't afford to go today, and they've all had a field day. I'm not even sure who they're supposed to be taking the piss out of. It can't be us because we don't exist. City have no fans.

People will complain about the cost of living and how expensive everything is getting, before pointing and laughing at any empty seats for a day to London that potentially involves transport, parking, accommodation, food/drink and an expensive match ticket for a semi final on London Marathon weekend.

And as someone else said, the most vocal ones are the ones from thousands of miles away who couldn't even find their teams city on a UK map.

Great day, think it was back to the 'siege mentality' days with the backing, lower tier at it most of the game. Forest fans decent outside but had to bite my tongue with some empty seats comments as would have got in to lecturing them with facts and figures and I couldn't be arsed. Well done the lads, always felt we were in control despite them hitting the woodwork 3 times. Anyway........WEMBLEY AGAIN OLE OLE !!

As soon as we stepped off the escalator onto the 3rd tier concourse it had the feel of an old school away day. Much drunkenness and singing. 544 was bouncing, lots of pockets of blues starting their own songs. Fans standing up to join in with chants or to moan about the ref weren’t asked to sit down by dreary killjoys.

Coming down the stairs after the game with everyone singing their hearts out and the songs bouncing off the ceiling was electric.

Great day out and fairplay to Forest fans who to a man were decent and took defeat without any nastiness.

Fully agreed with everything up until your last sentence. Fuck them!

Encountered a few bitter ones on the tube afterwards but as you say it didn't turn nasty so overall nothing to complain about, better than some others we've encountered in recent years. A great effort by the team and the fans alike yesterday.

I felt sorry for a few forest fans on the packed Bakerloo line tube back to Euston, which was packed with city fans, when we started singing 'if I die on the kippax street...', I thought how menacing that must sound to opposing fans, especially the 'wooah, wooah' sounded like some kind of zulu warrior chant!....you could see them shrinking into the shirts just wanting to be anywhere else!

Watford were fantastic. The best at Wembley along with Sunderland.

Strange one isn't it. When they sung their anthem about 10 minutes before the game it was deafening, but apart from that I didn't hear anything apart from the occasional "youuuu redddds" and the obligatory last minute anthem so they can walk away patting themselves on the back.

Believe it or not, I've just gone on their forum and some of them reckon they out sang us. I'm not sure what game they were at, but as you say they were amongst the worst we've seen.

On a wider point regarding the atmosphere, there was constant noise from the lower tier blocks which was fantastic and I give 1894 huge credit for creating a block for dedicated singers.

However, what turned a good atmosphere to a great atmosphere was the noise coming from the upper tier blocks. Something we've completely lacked in the last few semi finals vs Chelsea, Sheffield and Scousers. That made all the difference, as noise from the upper tier spreads around the whole end and creates an absolute wall of noise.

I really hope we can recreate this for the final, as palace will be on top form.

Yes I was in 1894 area, good on em.

The noise from the upper tier behind us really helped, hope they all get tickets and not the phone wanking tourists as they will all be back for the final.

Forest sound was awful, really shocked, must have had a lot of one game a season wonders there although those I met pre match were all top.

Sunderland and Watford best that we have played re atmosphere at Wembley.

This is 100% my experience of the day. At the service stations and during that anthem part I thought we were in for a long day, but after the goal I didn't hear them once the first half and there were pockets of noise in the second but nothing sustained. And there were huge swathes of the game where all the noise was coming from our end. And there was very little noise after the game as well.

Thanks for the positive feedback on the 1894 section yesterday. It seems to have gone down well.

We will be running another section for the final. If you want to take part, you can enter your details here: https://forms.office.com/e/Kv2buWckxS
Is the 1894 section for the final going to be in the same position for the final? Bottom 15 or so rows behind the goal?
