Atmosphere at away games

Am I the only one that thinks it has been a lot poorer this season than in previous years. Made a few trips this season and been really dissapointed. Scunny, and the derby second leg at OT have been the best this season, the 4-3 derby was decent as well.

It's a shame i always thought it was the more "hardcore" singing bunch that did the away games, seems we are getting a lot of prawns this season though turning up at the aways.

Thoughts ?

there are a few reasons for this.

1, its fucking cold
2, we are all skint so can't afford to enjoy the local pubs the same.
3, we're shit.

It's cold?

What's that got to do with it?

We definatley need some new city songs, we've got a decent song book but they get over used alot.

I think it's expectation. A few years ago it was just about the day and the trip. he result didn't matter. Now as we get close to that coveted fourth spot it's about getting (or not getting) the points.

Bang on pal...............I said on the way back from Hull 'just like the good old days - good trip, good booze, shit performance'

These jonny come latelys dont know they are born !!!!

dont go to many these days as work. but it was a proper away day years ago. bin to a few this season. scunthorpe was me favourite brilliant. sum city fans jus fink we can win like that. i was at united and was singin and the guy next to me said calm down. going stoke hopefully well c a good turn out and good banter

Blackburn and Villa were the best aways. At Villa, everyone was singing the entire time and we even cheered on Ricky Dunne, especially when he inevitably scored against us (did anyone take the 25/1 for Dunne being first goal scorer?)
The main problem is that most of our songs are shite. Someone get on the blower to Noel and get him to come up with some good toons. When we started singing DA DA DA DA ADAM JOHNSON against Bolton, it was like listening to those poor sods in the WORST OF X-FACTOR. And why the feck do we sing THE CITY IS OURS - FCUK OF BACK TO LONDON when we played Bolton and Hull?!!
I also think Eastlands is like so many modern grounds - characterless. The only decent singing is from the ex-kippax boys next to the away fans. I sit in the Colin Bell stand - about 30 seats to the right of the directors. If I stand up and sing, everyone around me dig into their sandwiches which they bought along in their tupperware and look the other way.
GET SINGING - SET SOME MEXICAN WAVES AND GET SOME SOUL BACK INTO THE AIR................

This is true, I also think that a lot of fans are convinced that some the new players have our clubs best intrest at heart, I think deep down a lot of people feel that some of the players are only interested in themsleves. The connection between players and fans seems to be lacking, if the players don`t want to bust a gut for us away from home then they don`t deserve supporting.
I have been to most away games this season and tend to be more critical of this team than the one under Pearce. I know his team was poor to watch but you could never question their commitment.
