Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

15 months into my 2-year ban and having no choice but to watch from an armchair, it's noticeable the different perspective you get by not being in the ground. At the game it can sound great, for example in SS116 where I used to rock up, but flat elsewhere. It can seem shite but noisy elsewhere and come across well on TV.

The atmosphere came across well today. The limbs in the South Stand when Cherki scored were brilliant. There were no comments from comms about it being flat or quiet. The Arse fans I would say were decent but quiet as mice after our 2nd. They stopped backing their team when they needed them, reverting to type when up against it. The stadium looked packed at the final whistle. The interaction with Donna and the SS was funny as fuck at the end.

Even the Huddersfield rag was impressed.

Sometimes we're just too fucking hard on ourselves and line up to slag off our own, but today it's a well done to all from this armchair fan, you did us proud.

Up the fucking Blues (sorry Sheila).

If anyone is complaining about the noise today they definitely only watched it on TV with the sound turned down. Imbeciles.

Again, like the Seat Counters thread, posters moaning about Blues.

I was there. It was great. I sit in CB3, it was loud. Yes there were times it went quiet but thats normal. If it's 1-1 and Arsenal are attacking you don't start singing 'City's won 4 on a row'.

The ground got behind the team.

Hoarse and proud

I suspect the very different perceptions of the atmosphere are coming from people who sat in different areas. There was a good level of overall noise but it wasn’t that often that the stadium got together to belt out a song. There was often 2,3, even 4 songs going at once. And whilst that new song is fun, it doesn’t spread around yet.

It wasn't Madrid levels as it potentially could have been but was still good. I'd say very good up until the equaliser, the timing of that just instantly deflated the entire crowd who were about to go to the next level. After that, arsenal got a bit of a foothold on the game and it went a bit quiet until halftime.

Picked up second half and went wild for the goal. Nerves hit towards the end but felt like we made our voices heard everytime we had backs to the wall, unlike their fans who just went silent after Haalands goal, was very strange to witness such a lack of passion at the end from them when they're chasing a goal that would put them firmly in the driving seat for a first title in 20 years

I thought it was great, maybe not top 10 but enough to affect what was happening on the pitch. Just loads of noise.

I agree to a point. At times there was multiple songs going on at once.

However like you said it was the overall noise that was great. It was the cheering and shouting of encouragement. Some of the loudest noises being the crowd roaring on Bernardo’s last ditch tackle or Nico winning the ball back

Feels like you’re making out that it was bad today. It wasn’t, there was an incredible nervous energy, superb atmosphere IMO.
I don't think the game three years ago was any better or worse than yesterday's atmosphere, they were both great I don't understand this need to compare.
