Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

It was just alright. When you've been there approaching 30 times in the last 10 years it naturally doesn't feel as special as when it's your first ever final, that is perfectly normal, only those not used to seeing their team winning would suggest otherwise, it's not entitlement it's just reality of being spoilt by the best era of dominance in modern history.

I thought it was shit, as most of our FA Cup finals are. I haven’t particularly enjoyed the last three FA Cup finals. United and Palace was shit for obvious reasons. Today was flat, even when we scored we didn’t really sing much.
I thought the same. Very very flat first half. Very flat second half, then decent after we scored but nothing special.

Chelsea were louder through the game, but nothing special at all.

Atmosphere first half 3/10
Atmosphere second half 7/10

I think that might have been down to the 7AM start and drink consumed.

Chelsea fans seem to think they were amazing… they weren’t. Maybe marginally better than us first half, we were better than them second half.
It was strange of them to slag our fans off. Their away following is always poor at our place, Stamford Bridge is quiet, they get smaller crowds than us. Have they been brainwashed by the media. Their fanbase has rarely been as big as hours for over 100 years.

I thought it wasn’t bad not 90 Mins noise granted but reached another decimal when needed went with my friend from Hong Kong first time he been to Wembley as a old broke he was waving his flag about singing raise his fist in air
If anyone knows older Chinese people they tend to be very quiet

It was experience he enjoyed

Flat all around.Green Man.135 concourse.Inside and on the tube back.Tried getting it going with the lads on the concourse and tube but it was hard work.
Not sure why.Maybe the weather.

Quite a lot of our end left before the players had really started the post trophy celebration. Maybe the coaches have deadlines?

Such a long day though. Left the house at 7.45 and just got in. Knackered!
I think the 30 minutes putting the pieces of the stage together tested the patience of many.

I left at 7am and got back about 11:45pm, three trains, a bus and a mile walk to get home. Mad!

I thought it was flat, especially compared to the league cup final.

Standing sections - I thought again compared to the Arsenal game, no where near as loud in my opinion. I was in a similar area for both.

Type of fan attending/ pricing - I thought this made a big difference. I didn’t see a lot of tourists, but I did see more season ticket holders, particularly older blues, which meant the average age of our crowd was a lot older than the league cup game, from what I could see.

I reminded me of the pictures from Everton away. Lots of old school blues ticking off a new ground, but the atmosphere wasn’t as good.

It was obviously amazing to see us lift the fa cup, and it probably comes across as me moaning, but I missed the noise and passion we had at our previous Wembley visit

Unless I misheard all I could hear at the green man was city fans singing about Liverpool? Was I mishearing that?
I didn’t go there but it was busy but quiet in JJ Moons. I agree with your theory above: an older crowd of season ticket holders who have been to Wembley dozens of times and weren’t really feeling a massive sense of jeopardy.

Any "atmosphere" in that stadium will always be shit, so no great surprise.

Chelsea's main song all afternoon was "Your support is fucking shite", outside that where I was sat, I barely heard them either, apart from a few minutes in the second half.

Not quite shit but not great. Seemed good on the upper concourse before the game but never really got going inside.
Tactics didn't help with Chelsea just falling over hoping to get free-kicks and playing the occasional long ball, and City playing safety first football refusing to take risks against a team seven places and twenty-fucking-eight points below us. - That's not taking risks by hitting the byline but happy to lose the ball by dribbling through gaps that weren't there.
Ticket prices didn't help especially as the League Cup and FA Cup semi were well priced, but fuel and parking totalled 80 quid so twenty each and you don't have to add hotel rooms and oceans of beer just to watch a football match.
Wembley fatigue is another factor and I doubt many southern teams would sell out as often as we do if they had a 400 mile round trip. - All these elements contribute to a less than intense atmosphere.

Head scratcher of a chant that one considering Chelsea have never had higher average attendances than City since 2003 and the move away from Maine Road.

Manchester City as a club have had their most successful period in our history

Our fan base with young people will grow because of this.

We are just about to complete the 300 million pound expansion of our stadium in the North Stand

But there are still issues with ticketing- Manchester City created their own issue and scored a massive own goal

They created this role

Manchester City created a dedicated Ticket Compliance Manager/Officer role to investigate unauthorized ticket resales, combat touting, and suspend accounts violating the club's ticketing terms. The position manages club investigations into unofficial platforms and oversees punishments, such as temporary stadium bans, for fans who illegally resell their tickets.Key Aspects of the RolePrimary Responsibilities: Monitoring social media, checking ticket resale sites, and cross-referencing supporter accounts to identify unauthorized ticket sales and stop touts.Enforcement: Fans found selling tickets outside of official club channels—even for less than face value—are subject to significant account suspensions (e.g., 6 months to permanent closures).Club Integration: The Ticket Compliance Manager works alongside the club's safety, security, and fan support teams, and frequently coordinates with the club's official fan consultation group, City Matters, to report on touting data.Safe and Legal Ticket OptionsTo avoid running afoul of the Ticket Compliance Officer, fans should only use official club channels.Official Exchange: Season ticket holders can safely release their seat for specific matches using the official Man City Ticket Exchange.Safe Ticket Buying: Review the club's official Man City Safe Ticket Buying guide for approved purchasing methods and authorized hospitality packages.Contacting the Club: If you need help with ticketing policies or need to appeal a compliance decision, you can use the Man City Contact Support page or call their dedicated support line at +44 (0)161 444 1894

They created the resellers' issue where the tickets are sold to the reseller, so Manchester City have the money for the ticket, but the resellers have not sold the ticket on at inflated prices, so the empty seats are caused by the club

So Emptyhad issues will continue until someone realises you're better selling the ticket cheaper than trying to overcharge

Really good in 531 and there were songs spreading from all around our end, lots of old school blues, hardly saw any empty seats, great day out

Astounds me the miserable nonsense people post on here, it simply isn’t true
It is 100% true there where many empty seats, it was sat in 548 and could see roas of dozens opposite me.
