Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

We won’t have a decent atmosphere until and choose your songs merchants realise they aren’t cool.

There’s a reason the Amorin song keeps getting sung. Enough Blues join in to make it heard.

We need the Edin Dzeko song back, like at Huddersfield.

Great banner for Ricky.

Early leavers missed two goals today, haha love it when they miss goals!

But at least they got home in time for tea and Strictly.
Mate I very much doubt the people who leave early are doing so to watch Strictly. Getting away from the ground using any fork of public transport is a absolute nightmare, until that's sorted this won't change.

The easy answer is if you don't like it start something else off.

If not in a singing area then relocate to it.

It's football, it's a song, it's taking the piss.
Bang on the money.
Fans in other parts of the ground complain when you don't sing and then complain when you do.
We've even got fans saying loyal Blues should miss out for Liverpool so some jock kids can go.
(Shakes head and presses post)

The easier answer is stop singing a song seven+ times a game that nobody wanted to join in with the first time, and sing some pro-City songs.

As you say it’s taking the piss, but who we taking the piss out of that was listening? I doubt Burnley fans were arsed we were singing it because it’s not taking the piss out of them and I doubt many Rags were watching us because after they got beat they’ll all be on the ‘we don’t like football anymore’ football blackout for the rest of the weekend, so who we singing it to?

SS3 happily joined in and I assume Kippax corner and SS1 so that's a tad more than nobody....as I said move to change it if it pisses you off mate.

We're all blues on here and all support our different ways.

Or maybe it’s a case of most people don’t know the words.

Yesterdays game was the worst for day trippers in our stand (022); think we were the only regulars on our row. I commented when we came in that there were only about 4 people around our seats that I recognised.

Met my cousin at half time and she said it was the same near where she sits in the south stand.

Casual fans don’t know any songs other than Blue Moon and Come on City. It’s telling they were the loudest chants all match.

The south stand tried to get We’re Not Really Here going but you could tell those around us didn’t have a clue what we were singing.

I’ve often noted that overseas fans - who visit for the ‘experience of a PL game’ are bemused when local/regular fans are vocal at the match (seems we’re part of the entertainment!)

Whilst I know they are not the only reason the atmosphere is flat, they are a contributing factor and it’s exacerbated when they’re in greater attendance - which is usually against teams like Burnley, where there’s more chance of them getting tickets.

The club have fucked this up by not issuing new season tickets and encouraging day trippers who have no emotional buy in to City. Huddersfield on Wednesday night - not a tourist in sight and a brilliant away end. What’s more important to you Soriano - match day income or match day support? Rhetorical

So true this.
I would normally stay to the end and walk back into town.
However, due to the amount of surgery I had earlier this year, I now have a sizeable hernia, and can't walk the same distance. Because of this, I needed to make sure I was on a bus back.
There's various reasons that people leave early on any given occasion.
Unfair to class everyone the same.

The time for singing about united etc is when we are 4-1 up. Not at 1-1 when the team need the fans behind them.

start singing about existing players rather than players who are not with us anymore

ffs we sing more about Dzeko still more than he did when he played for us.

Hudds away was great, then back to that yesterday.
Was about to post the same thing. I find it really odd when we spend most the time signing about older players who didn’t contribute or win anywhere near as much as the current crop.

Find it a bit odd. Particularly as Dzeko isn’t exactly aguero levels in terms of contributions to city
