I think your desire may be impacted by the shite rail system, myself for example if I don't make the 18.49 buxton train I and 3 school age children will be stuck at piccadilly for 2 hours until the 20.49 and get home at god knows what time. I'm sure the Sunday service will impact many others the same way.

Along with 3000 plastic Scousers heading back to London, the Home Counties, North Wales, and to Manchester Airport to catch their flights back to Oslo, Dublin, and Belfast.

Now that is what football atmospheres should be like!

Fans involved in every kick of the game, responding to what’s going on on the pitch, booing and whistling the opposition’s possession, giving shit to opposition players for mistakes and missed shots, going wild for tackles/free kicks/throw-ins/corners won, celebatating goals properly, chanting more loudly after goals, giving the opposition fans shit, taking the piss, showing our appreciation to players and the manager…

When English atmospheres are good, they’re the best kind of atmospheres in the world.

Still let down a bit by the early leavers for half time, late comers to the second half and early leavers at the end when we’re playing brilliantly against the champions on the way to a 3-0 win. But as I said a few pages back, that’s a hangover from the culture of our fanbase from when we were shit and games didn’t mean as much, maybe it will take a few decades to rid ourselves of that old culture.

I think from very early on today they feared what was coming!

We were on the main train back to Warrington after the game and there were very few on that. They literally do travel from all over the place to get to games and very few from where they play!

Our away end at the Etihad helps. Almost all fans with no drum or megaphone struggle to get an atmosphere going in that away end. The thin strip of an away block we give them, split over three mini tiers, does not allow for atmosphere and it’s rare away fans make a racket. Only happens without a drum and megaphone when the top tier is at it.

Long may that away end continue as it is. Just don’t let Euro fans in with the drum!
