I’m not missing the point at all. I mentioned pricing for a reason, as it meant our actual fans could attend. The wider point was that we can clearly outsing this type of away fan.

There’s loads of different factors - pricing, how big the game is…. I would say we’ve had the ground full of city fans before our success. I remember quite a few games under Sven, mark hughes and Mancini where the ground was silent.

We’ve had issues with atmosphere the entire we’ve been at the etihad.

As daft as it sounds the early goal has completely done for the atmosphere. Completely knocked the stuffing out of the Leeds fans which silenced them and we probably needed them to spark it off.

Fuck me that was the worst in a long time, empty seats everywhere, coaches full of school kids bused in and the fucking shining phone lights across the pitch we usually get a champs league game creeping into a prem game fucking awful, but it seems stems from us not being able to sell our home ticket a?, is price point or experience the problem??

Almost everyone is a (proper) City fan at a PL match, but that doesn’t guarantee great support. What is your excuse for those PL matches where the atmosphere is still shit?

Hamburg was one of those matches. City were a goal behind, came back, were winning, and then went down to 10 men, with Richard Dune getting sent off, The team needed the fans support that night, and they got it. Which has been replicated in other similar matches throught the years at MR and at the Etihad.

What’s wrong with having a drum and a megaphone as part of their support and football culture? Not just theirs, but 1000’s of other football fan cultures across Europe and the world.(Europe, South America, North Africa, Asia, North America, etc) They must be all wrong? You must be right? You go on as if it shouldn’t be allowed, and there should be a football law against it.

Who are you to tell football fans across the UK, Europe, and the world they shouldn’t use a drum and a megaphone as part of their support, and as a part of their football culture that they are brought up with from an early age?

You’re just another (dinosaur) English football fan who thinks the English way of supporting football teams is the best and only way of supporting football teams and creating an atmosphere.

If, if you’ve ever read my comments about our away support, which you have, and which I I’ve often been apart of, ‘there’s the clue’, you KNOW I have always praised our away support, as it is regarded as one of the best in the PL. But we’re not discussing our away support, we’re discussing our home support. That’s the on-going issue.

Today was once again proof as to why the North Stand needs to be a serious atmospheric section.

SS1 and Kippax Corner simply can't compete when the away fans in SS3 are on it, like Leeds were in the 2nd half.

I've been going 50 years now. Sit in the East Stand Level 3. If it wasn't for the fact that i go with my sons and dad i think id sack it off. Surrounded by tourists. Leeds fan in front and people from europe singing songs totally unrelated to city. It's like that most games now. Most of the ST holders i sat near for years have sacked it off.

When you price out your core supporter base, piss off those that are still around and make it very hard to transfer tickets you get a shit atmosphere and the ridiculous sight of school kids (I assume) with their bloody phone torches. Utterly embarrassing!

The South Stand has had its day and needs leaving behind.

It still has its place, but it doesn’t work as singing end. It’s too small, split up and the reality is it’s pretty much just two small blocks either side that make any noise at the minute.

We need to go all in on the north stand. Sadly the club aren’t helping with that at all

You’ve hit the nail on the head. Some of the people I sit near don’t react to anything. Last minute winners, sendings off or anything else.

Half the time I think are they robots. They get to the game, sit in silence, don’t react and then leave ten minutes before the end. I don’t think they even enjoy going to games now.
