Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

Yes I did.
Today was the second time I've been this season.
Even though I have a season ticket.
Ive been up and down the country watching city since I was a kd.
Cut a long story short I had my dad's ticket today.
After 20 minutes I couldn't believe it could be as quite and as shit as it was.
I thought I might miss going when I stopped.
It’s ok if you don’t enjoy it don’t go. You keep telling us how much you don’t like watching City, And you leave at half time. Perhaps you should just go to the Christmas Markets. You don’t have to support City any more.

Scrap the music under the stands. Same songs played on a reel. Let people talk to each other.

Our stadium is noise from the minute you enter to the minute you leave apart from when the game is on. It’s relentless, too loud and not what most people want. At least in SS3 today pre game they allowed people to just watch the geordie game on tv without pumping music at 100 decibels at the same time.

The respite didn’t last long. Up to the seats 10 mins before kick off and it was back to normal!

At lpool the tv companies place mics infront of the kop for the prematch karaoke rendition so it comes over loud and clear….tradition and istree….

I've said it before there's no atmosphere without jeopardy. We expect to win at The Etihad against anyone. The games against Arsenal or Liverpool get people fired up. Real Madrid in Champions League but in 95% of games at The Etihad we just expect to win

Sick of the moaning **** :)
Yes I thought we were great in the first half. Yet on here we have so many miserable moaning tossers. Perhaps they are just sick of life. I left the ground and went into town where the pubs were packed with happy City fans. The moaners on here are a minority who don’t speak for most of our fanbase.

I don't need to explain myself to anyone.
I've been going to city home and away since I was a kid in 1984.
I don't care if that's longer than you have been going or not.
The club .
And football to me isn't what it was.
I'll move on and leave it to people who think football now is great

It's my only beef really. I don't need a disco at half time.

Went for a **** at half time...thousands still on the south stand concourse drinking while the second half is about to start....
But let's blame tourists, ticket prices etc etc for the shit atmosphere...
It's actually closer to home, a lot closer

Is it fuck, thousands of our local fans would rather drink in the concourse....APATHY ON A HUGE SCALE has arrived at the ETIHAD
Nailed it! No matter what the club does it can reduce tickets to 10 pounds they’ll still be cardboard cutouts during the game and empty seats by the thousands at full time. Today, we had world‘s best striker, our new Maverick in Cherki, the world’s best coach, homegrown youngsters playing in the first team, and a chance to be top of the league and it still wasn’t enough to interest the fans. Thank god for our away support!

There’s a difference between glass half empty and glass completely empty

If you have a season ticket why did you use your dads ?
This thread is about atmosphere or lack of it and you openly state you left at half time but still take the time to criticise fans !

FWIW, it was rocking on the Harrogate Blues coach with a great, celebratory singalong.

It’s been another proud year of being a Blue and being part of the OSC.

Also, a special mention to the great work of 1894 who helped to get a face to face meeting for fans affected by the North Stand expansion. Trying to improve the atmosphere in the Etihad must feel like flogging a dead horse.

I turn 40 next month and this thread is giving me the fear about how you experience the second half of your life.
Don’t have any fear.
Since turning 40 I’ve had the best years of my life watching our wonderful blues.
Still get the same buzz going to the game with my grown up kids (30+), Dad, Brother and Niece as I did going to Maine Road.
Creating memories for a lifetime.
Atmosphere is a lot more than one factor.
Don’t get me wrong, I still celebrate getting to the 40 point mark but my City life, and that of my family, has been infinitely better post my 40th Birthday, than before.
Life is for living, loving and enjoying our amazing boys in blue.
Early Happy 40th Birthday to you too.
Enjoy!

Same here mate, went to the Leverkusen game a few weeks ago and left the stadium feeling as flat as a pancake. The Etihad is an amazing stadium but sadly dead in the stands, we need to see some exciting fast paced football on that pitch again

Like we saw yesterday?

I agree the Leverkusen game was shite but that was our reserves against a top German team.

My 40th birthday present from the club was the 97-98 season when we plumbed new depths, being relegated to the third tier for the first time. But it gave me lots of opportunities to visit new grounds and use toilet facilities that made the old Kippax bogs look like the Savoy hotel.
Then it got better, and better, and worse, and better. And the summer of my 51st birthday coincided with the arrival of Sheikh Mansour, and things have got significantly better since.
