Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

I mentioned earlier on the thread that I think part of the problem with our atmosphere of late is that we haven’t built a bond with this new team yet and we’ve lacked moments that bring that into the feeling between the team and the fans.

Well, today is the day that bond really starts to develop and it will raise us in the stands.

Best win since the final day against West Ham in 2024 and I think that will all do wonders for the atmosphere.

Up there with Istanbul at the end of the match. The away end was fucking buzzing at full-time.

I'm going to give the directors and City credit.

I didn't see a single tourist or half and half scarf in the away end.

Just FOC's and youth in the away end.

Thank you City!

I saw one behind the goal - arabic couple not sure if relative of marmoush/ait-nouri etc?

I dont think we have been as bad as the scouse shite today since the Pearce years. Perhaps posters on here expect to much.

Haaland almost hit my face with that ball off the cone haha
In 116 whenever Kyle Walker used to line up a shot we used to shout "duck" and about a dozen of us would drop to our knees. We thought it was hilarious, as you do, but my mrs thought we were idiots. Until one day he smacked one from 30 yards, we ducked, she didn't, and the ball twatted her flush in the mush.

Absolutely no-one laughed, for about 5 seconds. Who's the idiots now my precious?

I wasn’t there yesterday. Had been the previous 2 times and I thought our end was horrendous for atmosphere on both occasions compared to what we used to be like when we played at Anfield, so decided to skip it and do Spurs away last week instead. Obviously I picked the wrong game to miss.

What I would say is that the Liverpool fans came across as quite at times yesterday but I’m not sure whether that was down to positioning of microphones because at times when you could hear our fans, it sounded like they were in a different postcode so those inside the ground will have had a better perspective on what their fans were like. On those previous 2 occasions we played there I thought the Liverpool fans were loud as fuck and we couldn’t get anything going in our end. Some of that was down to the number of randomers and, cough cough, Barca fans in our end but I also think some of our regular fans were a tad intimidated by the home fans and didn’t bother trying to sing. Yesterday looked and sounded a lot different. City fans a lot louder and Liverpool fans a lot quieter, plus a City end that actually looked full of proper City fans looking at the limbs and celebrations.

I also think that it was yet another example of atmosphere being linked to what’s going on out on the pitch. Liverpool’s form has fallen off a cliff this season and that has seeped through to the fans. Spurs fans last week were utterly horrendous in the first half - just like their team - and that’s despite having by far the biggest single tier end in England where surely it doesn’t take too much effort to get a song going.
