Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

I'm going to give the directors and City credit.

I didn't see a single tourist or half and half scarf in the away end.

Just FOC's and youth in the away end.

Thank you City!
Yep.

I didn't think it was the best away end atmosphere wise, although it was a hell of a lot better than the last few times we've been to Anfield. Absolute bedlam after the 2nd goal went in.

But yes this has been a noticeable difference this season. Arsenal, OT and Anfield have all had way less tourists, and they're usually the 3 worst.

I would say well done city, but they shouldn't have been there in the first place!

I wasn’t there yesterday. Had been the previous 2 times and I thought our end was horrendous for atmosphere on both occasions compared to what we used to be like when we played at Anfield, so decided to skip it and do Spurs away last week instead. Obviously I picked the wrong game to miss.

What I would say is that the Liverpool fans came across as quite at times yesterday but I’m not sure whether that was down to positioning of microphones because at times when you could hear our fans, it sounded like they were in a different postcode so those inside the ground will have had a better perspective on what their fans were like. On those previous 2 occasions we played there I thought the Liverpool fans were loud as fuck and we couldn’t get anything going in our end. Some of that was down to the number of randomers and, cough cough, Barca fans in our end but I also think some of our regular fans were a tad intimidated by the home fans and didn’t bother trying to sing. Yesterday looked and sounded a lot different. City fans a lot louder and Liverpool fans a lot quieter, plus a City end that actually looked full of proper City fans looking at the limbs and celebrations.

I also think that it was yet another example of atmosphere being linked to what’s going on out on the pitch. Liverpool’s form has fallen off a cliff this season and that has seeped through to the fans. Spurs fans last week were utterly horrendous in the first half - just like their team - and that’s despite having by far the biggest single tier end in England where surely it doesn’t take too much effort to get a song going.
I think the big difference is that the last 2 seasons the dippers in the extended Annie Road Upper were deafening, making it impossible to get anything going as they're directly above you.

Yesterday there wasn't a peep out of them lot, so it was much much easier for chants to spread around the away end.

I hadn't noticed that, the horrible scouse rats, what was amusing was seeing loads get up and fuck off, ynwa my fucking arse
I dont quite understand your comment 'ynwa my fucking arse.'

It is quite clear that one lad said 'fuck this Im off' and as their mantra is ynwa, another 50 joined him :-)
They should be congratulated for sticking to the rules.

Told it didn’t come over particularly well (especially first half) on tv (no sky mikes at our end) but it was a belting away end to be in, so much better than last season (which was one of the worst away ends I’ve been in), not a barcelona shirt to be seen, and the explosion at the goals (all 3) was joyous

That was incredible yesterday. I said on the way over that it felt more than ever like we needed a shot in the arm, and we got it and then some. Unbridled scenes of joy at the end. Loved the version of ‘City ‘til I die’ on the way out of the ground. You don’t hear it too often, but it was belted out with passion. Just what was needed after a week of getting stick from all quarters.

City til I die needs to be brought back!

I could see us moving and chanting but it didn't come across well during the match on the TV. I swear they have fucked about with the microphones. You could hear someone opening his giro in the kop.
Even at the end when it was bouncing you couldn't hear it well on sky
Mics were definitely turned down yesterday at the end it was obvious on the telly
