Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

I was lower tier (which was superb) but I’m guessing that the safe standing areas in the upper tier made a difference, as I heard quite a few songs coming down. Previously when I’ve been up there it’s been non-stop
mither about standing up and trying to to get an atmosphere going.
It was split into two and there was still a seated section at the bottom of the tier. Saw it kick off with people being asked to sit down. Not sure why they don’t just make it all safe standing

Great day. Great atmosphere.

Usual Wembley Blue on Blue fisticuffs in 541 sparked by a few not sitting down arguments. It wasn't a safe standing area. A couple of lads got ejected a few minutes after kick off !

1st half was slightly better than our usual wembley crowd, probably slightly louder than arsenal.

As for the 2nd half, that's the loudest we've been at Wembley in a long long time. Plenty of chants starting up in the new safe standing area of level 5 and spreading around the whole end. Fantastic.

This demonstrates why -

CITY need a proper Home End - THE NORTH STAND

Looking to the future, the advantages of the North Stand are clear -

* 9,500 approx. capacity on one level.
* ONE entire CITY END
* 3,000 safe standing (the cheapest area in the stadium ?), at the back, under the roof.
* More safe standing can be added along the sides. These will encourage the other general admission seating below.
* visually impressive.
* acoustically effective.
* BOOM - can get the whole stadium going.
* When full of 9,500 on ONE level it will always make more noise than the lower, split, small South Stand, providing that singers start to congregate at the back and across the North Stand next season.

City`s main, vocal home stand that is as good as any home end elsewhere, should become the new North Stand - better name, bigger, louder than the South Stand lower.

Why on earth don’t the club play the proper version of hey Jude anymore?

Some of the best after game moments have been with that song, yet the club either don’t play it or play some terrible remix version you can’t join in with
Should be our "Club Anthem", fuck bluemoon off for all I care.

The full version they played yesterday should be played before games and after every win.

The proper version of bluemoon with everyone singing is class to be fair.

For me
Boys in blue - as the players walk out
Bluemoon - just before the beginning of the game
Hey Jude - it’s always great after a big win

Just play these before and after a game. Pretty simple.

At least we didn’t have to listen to that utter shite We Are The Champions or Rocking All Over The World.

Don't mind this at all mate, although I did used to quite like it when the players walked out to Right Here, Right Now.

Many of us have been posting it for years, it’s time the club ditched Blue Moon, especially the awful version that’s played before the start of every game, and replace it with a proper City and Manchester related anthem.

If it wasn’t for the marketing and merchandise sales associated with Blue Moon, I’m sure the club would do that, but money talks, or should I say sings.

I don’t agree mate. Bluemoon when done properly and sung by the majority, there’s nothing better.

If you’re talking about an anthem at the end of the game I agree. I always thought don’t look back in anger is the one - couldn’t get anymore Manchester related either

I’ve said many times I despise the fast version of Blue Moon. It’s cringeworthy.

Someone from 1894 told me a couple of years ago that they lobbied the club to replace it with the slow version but the club refused.

Fair enough mate.

But it’s too short. It’s over before it gets going. And what makes it worse is the change from slow singing, to the fast clapping halfway through it, and then it dies out quickly. Anthems should be long.

Compare Blue Moon to this.

Emotional stuff, even for fans who don’t support Hibs.

I stand corrected.

Didn’t Wigan singing it first, and we knicked it off them?
