It has always annoyed me that DLBIA was associated with the terrorist attack.

That woman singing it in St Anne’s Square… what a load of yoghurt knitting Kum Ba Yah nonsense. I’ll look back in anger at that jihadist **** every time I think of him murdering 22 people in our city.

The song that should have been attached to that should have been ‘Live Forever’ as it’s much more defiant and strong in sentiment.

We’ve never sung it as a set of fans (Villa have though), it’s not got inspirational or pertinent lyrics, it’s not saying anything we can get behind… it’s just one of my favourite bands most commercial and meaningless songs.

Lyrics that football fans can get behind. The lyrics are pertinent to going out and performing for each other, standing shoulder to shoulder with our brothers as fans in the stands and the same for the players on the pitch to face the adversity in front of us.

We’ll always be there for each other, as brothers!

I’d argue that song is up there with Joy Division ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ as the greatest Manchester song.

Great song and lyrics or not, I can't really see "He ain't heavy..." translating very well into a football chant unfortunately.

Was the perfect backing track to one of my favourite adverts in the 80s though!

I worked at Arena at the time, luckily night off but I had friends traumatised by being at that chaotic night, luckily survives including the lady who took my shift, sickens me when I hear that song

When you read the lyrics to ‘Sunshine on Leigh’, you wouldn’t think that would work either, but it does.

I think HAHHMB is that kind of song that would work.

My bosses missus was there with their young daughter and had shrapnel fire clean through his wife’s hand. Either one of them could easily have been killed. And we’re supposed to not look back in anger? Fuck that!

I'm sick of this. Everytime people have tried to start something it gets completely shot down by certain individuals accusing them of trying to tell others what to do. (I believe many of these would secretly be pretty happy if the North stand flops)

My belief is that the success or failure of the stand will be mostly based on the price and accessibility of tickets, hopefully attracting the right fans.

I can't even remember which murder or tragedy they were mourning, but I associate that song with two little kids holding hands on the pitch at Goodison Park before an Everton-Liverpool derby.

However if we're going down the anthem road then it has to be something original that everyone instantly recognises regardless of age or personal musical taste.

Even better if it's a song that everyone associates with Manchester but most of the popular ones (Forest/Sheffield United/Wolves) are just daft football versions of well known songs
