Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

Anyone else notice those vuvuzelas at the game yesterday. Fucking annoying. People got em in town today too. Hope the stadium don’t allow them in next season. Proper atmosphere killer. Remember South Africa World Cup?
Yes, some twat had one up at the back of my section at the top of EL3. Just random toots and then he/she carried on as Pep was giving his speech. Wanted to insert it where the sun don't shine

Front row of 111 . We were loud but couldn`t hear a peep from the North Stand . We also struggle to hear SS1 SS3 also .
Yeah, it depends on where you are in the ground. I think where NS2 will have the greatest effect is on the adjacent East and West stands towards that end of the ground. Those are traditionally quieter areas but if the noise is cascading down NS2 then that surely will encourage more fans in the East and West stands to join in and should help chants spread round the ground. I'm staying in SS1 but it doesn't bother me where the chants start from - apart from the ones I start myself, I go with the loudest chant and if there's a louder chant in 110/111/SS3/elsewhere than one in SS1 then I'll join in with the louder one instead.

It's only 1 game, but the louder chants appear to come from the North Stand.

My Father told me, the local pub we drink in and play bowls for, back in the 70s when he first started drinking in there, used to have a piano in the Vault and fairly regularly the whole place singing along with each other and a random punter on the piano. Especially, the old WW2 vets.

In believe this was a common part of pub culture for decades that has simply disappeared.
I’d like to see anyone get a tune out of the piano in the back room of The Castle on Oldham Street.

Just to clarify.

I wasn’t having a dig at the North stand and NSL2 when I posted I couldn’t hear them. It was down to SSL1 where I stand singing and creating a great atmosphere along with the rest of the Etihad.

Next season will be interesting.

I’m looking forward to hearing NSL2 starting chants off when there is a lull in the atmosphere and the Etihad is quiet.

It will take time for people moving to NSL2, new FG season ticket holders in NSL2, and fans buying NSL2 match day tickets, to get to know each other, and to form small or large singing groups across the safe standing areas, and throughout NSL2.

Scotland still has it. Probably because tickets are affordable for young, pissed, local, working class lads.

For me that's the best "football" song out there. Absolutely epic.

We don't have a shortage of Manchester inspired music to adopt but personally I think a quick fix would be to play Blue Moon but a slower version like the club used to. They could even play the whole song...

The version they play is horrific, it's an absolute atmosphere killer once the clapping starts.

100%

There's some great anthems that have come from this city. From Dirty Old Town to There's a kind of hush, to The air that i breath, to Im not in Love, to Champagne Supernova.... We could do more

We really need a chant where one end chants and the other end responds . Clubs like PSG and Basiktas are great examples .
