atmosphere

ha, love it. I can just see you reeling out an extension through the concourse and over the bar "plug this in will ya, love"

Seriously. I'd do it for a laugh, but the club would never entertain the idea.

I really think they would let you do it! City wants to make the atmosphere better e.g. letting people stand in block 109. If you took it down to start with you would get some tw@ts having at go at you, but people would come round to it in the end and I think having you or someone getting the chants going would really help things Jrb.

I also think what the Blue Alliance, Northern Boy and others are doing are doing with the banners and creating an "ultras" group is great idea. (This is something I am planning on joining) I have seen what clubs like Aberdeen and some of the lower league clubs have done and its looks great. An idea could be to see if the club would chip in towards the cost of big banners/ poles and providing an onsite storage room to put them making it easier people to use them.

Also is there a set pub where the Blue alliance meets before each home game and get the chants going before the game? Cos if not then they could get one (I have heard the Warldorf spoke about) and then walk to the ground together chanting and singing get the atmosphere going. And maybe in the future all try and sit together in the ground? This something which the club could help with through either next/ this season allowing the supporters clubs (BA) to book members season tickets together so that they are all in one section and not all over the ground. This could also help with dicks having a go at blues for e.g. having banners on poles, as they would all be in one group and would help with getting new chants going as one big group would be singing them.

The club could also make blocks 110 111 unreserved seating for example as well making it easier for like minded blues to stand together. I know this is very unlikely to happen :).

Also joining the kippax and the south stand could help things.

Lasting we need to stop going about how great things were in the past and start thinking about our future and making the current atmosphere better!

Taxi for Eastland_blue!

i agree! same old songs and new 'chants'

we could do with some new songs about the club its self

I thought the atmosphere was good last night (in 309).

The one and only point I'll make about the atmosphere and songs is that god awful "Ser-gio, Ser-gio" song. Seriously, it's so shit it's embarrassing. Is it any wonder people are a bit awkward singing and getting behind the team when we have songs that 99% of the ground are embarrassed to sing.

I think it's fair to say, we need some better songs.
I have to aggree, poor song, also aggree the atmosphere up in and around 307/8/9 was fairly good again, it has become a case now where we don't wait for the singing to start down stairs and the fans in this area are more then happy to start. My only dissappointment was the wind blew most of the ticker tape back into the stand, fu@k me it made a mess, bet the cleaner swere chuffed.
I ahve to say as well everyone I went around last night that I handed it out to showed a great interest in doing stuff to improve the match day. The kids loved it. Anyway maybe its time we came up with some ideas for this part of the ground, why can't we have our own large flag to go across the 3 tier???
Anyway top bunch of lads and lassies in this area now keep up the singing, now Everton that should be a cracker.

Erm... excuse me, that's my God awful song. ;-)

The thing is, if it wasn't for that 'God awful song(let's see how many times I can mention that), we still wouldn't have a song for Sergio. :-(

It probably is awful, but at least it's getting sung. The thing is, without 'knobs' like me who are prepared to have ago at starting songs on the terraces, we wouldn't have any songs to sing at all. Some take off, and some don't.

I'm not one to make a point, but we've spent weeks on BM trying to come up with a song for David Silva, and we ended up with, 'There's only one David Silva' on Wednesday night. :-?

So CITY FOR LIFE. I expect you to have a brand new Sergio Agüero song in time for the Everton game. If you can, feel free to join me in block 111, row X, and I'll join in with you, giving 110%, until it takes off.

Oh!

I've come up with a new song for Sergio. It does need finishing though. TBH I don't think it's God awful. Do you?

"When the ball hits the net it's not Torres or 'Shrek' it's Aguero.

Still love that song. I was singing it in my head this afternoon.

Sadly we can't even muster up a decent "Poznan" these days. It would get things goin for the whole match if everyone joined in around the whole stadium after about 5 mins, fat chance though.

It depends where you sit really. I think generally the loudest fans are in the South Stand and the Singing Section on the other side of the away fans. For future season ticket updates City should say when advertising the season tickets that if you want to sing, go to the South Stand. All the fans who enjoy the atmosphere should sit together and be loud as fuck, then the ones who just want to sit quietly and enjoy the football can sit in other sections of the ground. In summary, we should have a section where everybody sings, and then the rest can do as they will. Also the introduction of safe standing like they have in Germany would improve the atmosphere, and increase ticket sales at a cheaper price.

-- Wed Aug 07, 2013 9:52 pm --

I agree with this as well. The Poznan joined people together, broke down social boundaries, made people feel a lot more comfortable to then sing infront of each other, and lets not forget, drove a great atmosphere, looked fantastic and was just a really good laugh!!!!

did you guys notice this viewforum.php?f=16 ?

I'm normally a quiet and reserved individual, but when I do go to games I usually come home hoarse! If I go to The Etihad I sit with my brother, as he's a season ticket holder, but the recent Wembley Semi's I've been sat with total strangers, but still give it my all.
They should have pre game entertainment, and a cheaper beer to get people in the ground earlier to build up the atmosphere, if we had the same atmosphere as at German games it would be amazing! we tried with the Poznan, and for a while it was a breath of fresh air, but now opponents fans use it to taunt us when they score now! the Yaya-Kolo song has been bubbling all summer, when we play Liverpool it's sure to be a good bit of verbal jousting.

I spent the majority of last season in the family stand. The atmosphere was very poor. The trouble with City now is the most vocal people stay at home. And that's because of the prices you pay to watch your team.
