Recent new dodgy behaviour noticed.

I only use BlueMoon on my Android phone. I can't remember the reason, but the app was not a success, so I've always accessed the site via a 'add to home screen' link that I created from within Chrome.

For the past few days, when I click upon an image in a post, I see the toolbar including the 'x' which takes me back to my previous place.

On the other hand, if I click upon a 'view attachment' link - even if it's the same image but shown in a post replying to the original - the image is displayed with no toolbar and the only way to leave is the Android swipe-from-the-left 'go back' gesture, which takes me out of Blue Moon altogether. I lose my place.

I have checked and after clicking upon the image, the BlueMoon page is no longer still open, but has actually been replaced by the image display.

Has anybody else encountered this?

I usually use the desktop and couldn't find a suitable post on the phone to try but if you click on an attachment or picture on desktop, the toolbar and bottom bar disappear so you get an unobstructed view. If you use the back button that takes you out of the thread as you've found. Have you tried clicking/touching the picture again to get the toolbar back?

It isn't an app as such BTW as you won't find it on the Playstore but an extension of the browser, it gives you a 'back' button on pretty much everything. You may need to delete the shortcut first, but try it again through the 'app'.

Thanks for that - tapping again doesn't do anything, but I shall try the app again and fingers crossed. Actually I'll try creating a shortcut from different browsers first, just in case.

Wish I could remember what is was that I didn't like about app?

I deleted the app this morning just to see what the difference was and the only thing that jumped out was the app having the back button on everything at bottom left. I'm on Android/Chrome myself BTW.

That's helpful, thanks. I'll try Android/Firefox first, but it sounds like the app will sort it. Surprising how annoying the problem is. Cheers

I should have said but clearing cache & cookies is never a bad idea.

Try the following to save you having to sign back into everything. Close any BM tabs first and delete the app if you've downloaded it, to make sure you get everything.

Just remembered, in case it's significant - the first time that I noticed this behaviour was also the first time that I'd noticed, between clicking the 'view attachment' link and the image being displayed, a page with the square BlueMoon logo and a white background.

I'll have a proper look later, keeping your posts in mind. Thanks
