Attacks in Paris

Think you'll find the Greeks confirmed that a Passport and fingerprints matched a body close to where the passport was found. Now it ain't gonna take Einstein to work out if that individual was a suicide bomber or not one might think.

if they have they have - that wasn't the point in question - it was the fact that some people were pronouncing this as fact 2 hours ago that kinda rankled.

AS for the quick arrests in Brussels haven't the Belgians had their own terrorist problems in recent months and that black Polo used in the attack last night was hired in Belgium so maybe they were ahead of the game or knew who to watch / pick up once their two nationals involvement had been confirmed?

A passport was found that matches one that came through Greece, how hard is this for your one functioning brain cell

Without immigration most of us wouldn't be here. Without controlled immigration in t

Give me a minute, I've just found an old nudie photo of Marilyn Monroe.

Takes me fuckin ages to find my passport which is a foot from me in a draw. These cunts are good.

Has Billy posted today anyone?

Sent him a pm but no reply and want to know he is safe and well.

You really get off on misrepresenting people's views that much?

So intellectually dishonest, just the usual type of attempt from your corner to paint an easily dismissible caricature of anyone who reflects on the role Islam has to play in attacks like these, and the ideology that motivates them, as a bigot.

You'll have to highlight said anti Muslim sentiment for me, because what I read was people who were reflecting on the role Islam plays in these attacks, rather than glossing over this uncomfortable truth. An important distinction to make.

No one cares if Billy is Muslim, it's irrelevant. We wish him well. No one has any hate for ordinary individual Muslims. It isn't bigotry to run a critical eye over Islam as a faith, especially when there are people being motivated to heinous acts via interpretations of Islam's holy book.

The hostility though, is being reserved for Islamism, which I'd assume Billy doesn't identify with.

You know, the ideology that's killing thousands upon thousands of other Muslims in the Arab world, as well as those French civilians from last night?

You not think it's time people reflected on this in an effort to end the violence? To find a solution to it?

All I see is people like you so desperate to take this discussion away from the relevant stuff, and to drag it into a bigots vs non bigots. To conflate any criticism of Islam as bigotry against Muslims as individuals.

It's a good thing to want to protect Muslims from genuine bigots, but you shouldn't use that to condemn well intentioned critical analysis of the role faith plays in these attacks.

People want solutions, and they all want to starve the Islamists of oxygen. I assume you do also?

By being so quick to cocoon this topic, of interpreting all reflection on the role faith plays in the violence, you're not just shielding ordinary Muslims, you're sheilding the Islamists and the terrorists themselves.

You are a gift to these people, as you shut down any critical, well intentioned, discussion on it down in a belief that such criticism could only be motivated by bigotry.

Islamists are thriving at present, and the shield of 'Islamophobia' is protecting them from mainstream criticism.

As I said, it's a good thing to want to stand up for ordinary Muslims, but it's about time people like yourself came around the table and joined the discussion. As it's a discussion we as a society need to have, and it's a discussion that needs to be led by ordinary Muslims like Billy.

I'd like you to know that I didn't read past the first 5 words here. That's literal as well.

But I'm sure you made some massively informed and intellectual points.

I did try and tell him earlier on but HIS one surviving brain cell couldn't absorb the information so i gave up, they were reporting this on Greek TV 5 hours ago

It's a big advantage. Both the Lee Rigby killers were born here and three out of four of the london bombers were. It might have been a lot worse if they could have got hold of the weapons used in Paris this year.
Lee Rigby was run down by a car and mutilated with a knife. How could it be any worse. My point is being an island shouldn't allow us to feel smug. Terrorists live here and automatic weapons will be available IF required. Remember Hungerford.

There are 20000 asylum seekers in France, according to CNN. France is a country with 66m people. What is the probability that an innocent Syrian refugee was standing right next to the suicide bomber as it went off? You must admit that the probability is astronomical.

Also the notion that this passport was fraudulently obtained by a native Frenchman is difficult to believe. Why would someone risk being caught trying to obtain a passport to enter a country he's already within? Makes no sense.

Sorry it rankled you but Greek TV did report it hours ago, might be a country on the decline sadly but their TV reporters and TV channels usually have no political axe to grind they just tell it like it is
It's been a long day, let's all just think of the poor victims including 1 Brit

Suicide attacker 'tried to enter stadium'
Posted at20:13

One of the suicide attackers at France’s national football stadium, the Stade de France, had a ticket and tried to enter with a match under way, the Wall Street Journal reports. The newspaper spoke to a security guard who said the male attacker was discovered wearing an explosives vest at the entrance where he detonated it

Backlash fears

Yasser Louati, a member of the Collective Against Islamaphobia in France, says the Muslim community is disgusted by Friday's attacks.

He told BBC Radio 5live Muslims now live in fear of a backlash.

"The reports we are receiving from the ground is that now people are being attacked, mosques are being attacked, death threats are being written all over social media.

"Unfortunately less than a year ago when the attacks were carried out against the newspaper Charlie Hebdo and the Jewish supermarket, we provided the wrong answers.

"We added more division to division and we have put Muslims as if they were somehow responsible or somehow connected. I fear for the Muslim community right now. People are calling us worried whether they should send their children to school or not on Monday."
