Attendances

Apparently Watford tickets aren't selling too quickly. They've taken the full allocation, though, meaning we won't be able to sell the tickets for them.

It surprised me that Watford had taken the full allocation in the first place. They'll have the pick of a lot of big games/grounds to go to this year and they've brought big crowds to City quite recently so I dont think it will be top of the Watford fans' list.

They get a certain time frame between taking the tickets and the cut off point before they can give them back to City to sell, usually a club will wait right up to this deadline before returning certain blocks so they have a better understanding of demand - apparently Watford didn't consider this, and sold seats in all 3 tiers across all blocks, willy nilly, which scuppered any chance of them being returned.

-I'm basing this on information that's probably been provided last week though so fingers crossed it will be full in their end. It would be very annoying if we missed out on the stadium record because they didn't sell out! :P

Yes, your memory matches the facts and City did have 2 home games in consecutive days at Easter in 1955 (our history section on Blue Moon shows lineups etc.). Great that over 110,000 attended City home games in 2 days.

Nice one Gary, good stat that.

When they take the tickets, do they all have to be paid for, if not returned ? If they do would Watford be able to discount them to at least get rid of them all.

My understanding that we allow a certain number on sale or return, perhaps level 1 for example.
However if a club then take level 2 and level 3 then they have to pay for them all at the price City dictate.
I guess in that case it's in Watford's interests to sell the remaining tickets at any price in order to get some money back. However imagine the reaction from the fans who have already bought them at full price. Alternatively City might not allow a discounted sale without prior notification?

It was - so hopefully it's outdated! :P

Definitely :)
