A wee scottish village in ayrshire are playing away to the mighty Hearts in the scottish cup today, population of Auchenleck, 3,000, estimated away crowd at tynecastle, 7,000.
I hope orr wullie and the rest of the broons have made it ok.

Hmm, I wonder where Ayrshire Blue is today?

Oh, and I think I have been past their ground on quite a few occassions on the way from stranrear or cairnryan, might have to look up google earth.

I was born in ayrshire, lived in a shity wee town called cumnock for about a year. Cumnock and auchinleck absolutely hate each other, their rivalry is incredibly fierce. My dad says "there was sometimes a match at that fight" and its probably the only way to describe it.

The Junior team were unlucky today. A replay and extra cash would have been a big bonus......for Hearts!!!!

Not a big fan of junior football at all but I've been to the odd Talbot game over the past few years. Their support is largely made up of old firm fans with the odd exception who purely support the bot!

The cumnock v auchinleck rivalry isn't just a football rivalry, its a rivalry of two towns who despise each other. I've never seen or heard of violence at a football match in Britain to anything like the scale of the Auchinleck/Cumnock derby. Local scumbags gang figting for the full weekend of the fixture, and the day of he game itself is just chaos.

Can't confirm but I'm sure I heard before that their derbies often have a much larger police presence than old firm games, despite crowds barely reaching the 5k mark if at all! Not a fan of either town, those type of places you never feel quite safe walking through yourself, deepest darkest Ayrshire!

I wasn't near Edinburgh today, not stepped out of Kilmarnock!

Pretty much spot on. My family originally come from Auchinleck but had the sense to get out years ago, it is a shithole...as is Cumnock

Anyway Ayrshire_Blue will you be heading to Hampden on the 28th to see the in-breds play the mighty Honestmen of Ayr in the league cup semi???
