Averageness...

Oh, come on man!

Most superstars play for big clubs, and I mean big clubs as in Real, Juve, Barca, Milan, them...etc. These big clubs do not want to sell their superstars, rarely have financial motivation to do so, and players rarely want to leave. Bridge is class, better then most people give him credit for. De Jong is class. Bellamy is a prick but better then what we have. We have to walk before we can run.

What superstars do you want us to get?

Kaka? Tried it, failed
Villa? Doesn't want to leave Valencia
Eto'o, Henry, Messi? Barca is a much, much, much better team and has no need to sell

Give us some ideas at least.

We've just paid the 2nd highest transfer fee for our club for one of the most wanted midfielders in europe. De Jong is a class act at the right age and you should be excited by him, if you're not you will be once you see him play

We needed a left back and we got the best one we could get so can't complain there and while i'm not Bellamy's greatest fan it's obvious Hughes rates him and thinks he can the best out of him. Obviously i was gutted we didn't get Kaka but were making good progress in the transfer window and theres still over a week and a half to go

Agreed and haven't Real Madrid "looked" at de Jong in the past. My mate, whose a blue, is retired out in South Africa and his next door neighbour is Dutch, he says this guy will be awesome for us. Well I'll be watching him on Wednesday and can't wait.

Sorry, but, ignorant fans do my head in. We will get to where we want to go, but we need patience. And Robinho was a one-off, we only managed to sign a superstar so easily because he couldnt stay at Madrid, and Chelsea burnt their bridges with them before their deal was done. We will sign more superstars in time though.

We are building a team. It will be fucking good one.

End of.

Totally agree and the reason why the rags and chelsea have dominated for so long is their second 11 are better than most teams 1st 11. When we get to the stage were players like SWP and Bridge are just squad players like they were at Chelski, then we'll have a fooking good side.

THIS

I was very happy when we got Bridge.
excited to see what Bellamy can make the difference in the attack with his pace.
Delighted that we got De Jong, keen to see why he is a high rated DM.

And I didn't make a single post rgd Kaka. Maybe I am just too pragmatic,
I prefer we grow from strength to strength,
then jumping into something "Big" and flop.

I believe in developing from the back,
get our defence/midfield right first at this moment,
anyway we are the 2nd highest scoring club already.
We can only get better.

3 signings that improve us in positions where we are weak.

Yeah crap innit.

Wouldnt like to see you win the lottery mate, talk about money going to your head?

One simple question: are we a better team now than we were two weeks ago?

When ADUG took us over they said this would be a ten year plan. Of course they will go for superstar signings as and when they become available. Till then we must build a solid foundation and climb the league. If you cant see progress, cast your mind back to this time last season. I for one am more than happy with the signings in the Jan window so far, I also suspect there are more to come.

Don't get me wrong I think that De Jong, Bellamy and Bridge are good sound buys who will strengthen our squad in the right areas and help us climb up the table, but I can't help but feel a little bit bored by these signings, and underwhelmed. This is in part down to the whole Kaka saga when it actually seemed for a while like he would be playing for us, and that a host of superstars would follow him through the door. It's also down to the fact we signed Robinho on transfer deadline day and made audacious bids for the likes of Torres that day.

I've been looking forward to January for months, I thought we would go all out to smash transfer records left right and centre, Kaka, Messi, Henry, Casillas as well as the solid Bridge, Bellamy, RSC-type signings to add depth to the squad.

I was looking for the Bellamy-types to be signed as good squad players and not looking to February thinking I may have to pin my hopes on Bellamy to get us up the league. I thought maybe these guys would be good for Uefa cup action or easy games to give the likes of Messi a rest.

Are the owners prepared to wait until summer to blow a hole in English football? I hope not. I'm getting sick of Garry Cook and his 10-year plan because life's too short. On deadline day they broke the transfer record, surely in 12 days they can do that again for someone like Aguero, Villa, Henry or even improve the bid for Kaka?

I'm impatient, I know. But I'm well and truly underwhelmed by this transfer window so far now that Kaka has slipped through our fingers.

Chelsea for example, did they go out and buy superstars after the takeover?, no they didn't

you build a solid base to the team first, strengthen weak areas like we have, when were more advanced as a team than that's when the superstars come along, 3 signings i'm happy with at the moment, i would be a bit disappointed if we didn't bring a big name in but we have a team now which is nearly covered all areas of weakness and we can go back out on the pitch with a much improved squad and be where we should be!!!!!!
